Curry may sit out against Pacers

https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-rumors-warriors-weighing-resting-220233835.htmlPossibly to give him a better chance of breaking Allen's record in NY?
I'm against this. The Pacers are underrated right now. I think GS drops that game on the road without Curry. If he is banged up and needs the rest, fine. And maybe he is.
If' it's just to generate viewers for a nationally televised (TNT) Warriors/Knicks game, then boooo.

Do you actually think they would sit him to try and generate viewers for the Warriors / Knicks game? This seems... far fetched to say the least.
Edit: They may sit him, but it wouldn't be to generate more viewers for another game. It would be to rest him. With 2x back to backs on the next road trip, I would expect us to rest our vets somewhere along the way.

I'll be glad when he breaks the record and goes back to playing within the system.
He was chucking last game, trying to break the records in one game, both Ray Allen's career record and Klay's 13 3-pointers in a game.
It is a special record, probably the only one he has a shot of keeping -- he wasn't like 18 or 19 like some of these rookies today and he lost a lot of games to his ankle problems.
But please, set the record and then go back to job 1.

I’m fine with this. I’ve been saying he needs a rest for awhile now.

It is the front end of a back to back so I can understand why they'd do it.
But the record is part of the decision.

Please break the record tonight so we don't have to hear no more about this. Steph and the team has become too consumed with this record. That is why he shot nearly 20 3's a game the last few home games.

It's all lining up for NY. You know Steph wants to do it there. 4-6 tonight in Philly, take a game off and then it's a relatively easy job for him to put it away in the Garden.

If he gets 9 tonight, it should be an even easier job for him to get one in NY (or whichever venue Curry and the powers-to-be want it done in). If he finds himself in Human Torch mode tonight, I wouldn't want him to just stop shooting when he gets to 4, 5, 6, etc. and say "ok, I'll save myself for the proper venue".

Oh I don't think he'll intentionally stop if he's on fire. He's certainly capable of hitting 10 in a game — he did it 7 times last year — but the odds are probably against it, he hasn't achieved that yet this year. But then there is the whole brother thing and it is The City Of Brotherly Love.

Steph's brother always plays him pretty well. I don't see Steph getting 10 3s today.

Even if Steph broke the record already, I still see him resting games to help with his health Long-term.

I never understood the obsession of NY basketball in the NBA. Rich basketball culture on the streets for sure, but not professionally. New York hasn’t been relevant since our boy Sprewell was there.

Still the largest market in the country, so still relevant depending on how you define it. But $$$ and eyeballs drive the league.

Saw a scrawl that Pacers are among the leaders in giving up the fewest 3s.

Doesn't really mean much since teams change so much over the years but......Curry has faced the Pacers 18 times in his career. He has averaged just 20.3 points per game against them, which is his lowest against any opponent. Over those 18 games, he has shot 40.9 percent on his 3-point attempts.

Good, he hasn’t EARNED days off this year. Management seems to agree.
Probably would’ve rested him if they won last night, but Welp. Curry obviously loves playing though, so I’m sure he’s cool not resting.
