Chase Center security question

Post#1 » by cladden » Sun Jan 9, 2022 4:04 am

So I've only made it to one Chase Center game before but if I recall correctly security at the entrance is semi-tight with metal detectors and ****. Does anyone know if they confiscate vape pens coming in? I don't intend to get high inside but I kinda want it with me (I live in San Jose). Any pointers would be welcome. I'm so **** pumped to see Klay return tomorrow. Man it's been forever.

You should be fine. If it's a smaller one I'd tuck it inside your wallet and place that in the tray they give you. Or put it under your wallet and quickly toss a bunch of **** on top of it.

That said, I've gotten into Levi's with one in my pocket so who knows. I just try not to risk it and go with the tray tact first.

They don’t care as long as you don’t use it inside.

Sweet. Thanks for the advice. I'll risk it. If they were to take it's no big deal but if they threw out that would suck.

Pro tip, go into Miller & Lux at street level and have a drink (or dinner) at the bar. They have a secret entrance they will show you how to get to. There is still a metal detector and all that but no lines and they treat you like VIP. The first time I was able to get into the lower level club, guess the guy was temporarily away from his post because the second time they checked my ticket and pointed me out towards the escalator. Really, it's not like I can get into the lower level seating. Can't I just walk around, get a beer and see how the rich people live? Apparently not. Oh, and I doubt they care about a vape pen... just toss it right into the bin..

Wow. That's weak. Sorry about that man. Very surprising. I wonder why they even care.
I wonder if it would have set off the alarm if you just kept it in your pocket.
They told me to keep my belt on, not enough metal to set off the alarm.

I think there's a number of ways I could have gotten it in, including that or putting it inside my wallet or something. It's no biggie but it wasn't cool.

It was funny, my buddy (RIP) also had a burrito, and we went in through separate entrances to increase our chances of getting at least one burrito through security. I saw the guy tell him, you can't bring that in here! So he took a couple bites and tossed it.

I got through unscathed, and asked him, why didn't you turn around and try a different entrance?! And we got to our seats and shared my burrito.

True story!

IDK why they'd want to confiscate a vape pen, but I'd be sly about it just in case - throw my wallet and keys in the bin with the vape underneath, out of site.
