Poole is a hard worker. I expect him to come back next year stronger and with a tighter handle.

Poole is really loose with that handle, I like the idea of bringing in Rubio or a veteran college player who's a good defender.

Or bring in Joe Ingles to play point forward.

Somebody to get us to execute an offense when Poole is in.

Poole has shown the work ethic to improve his game. I don't see why we would assume he can't improve it any more? Defense and calming the F down with the ball are his next steps.

Given his age you expect improvement. If they can agree to a tradeable contract, they will.

He’s an asset just because he can score, especially over the course of a long season, because Curry and Klay may not always be able to carry the scoring load.

Man Jordan Poole sucks like game 4 and 5 vs Denver but not games 1 2 and 3 vs Denver or games 1 and 2 and 3 vs Memphis but definitely games 4 5 and 6 vs Memphis

Joe Ingles at vet min would be mind blowing.

You really want a 35 yr old Joe Ingles, who underwent ACL surgery less than 3 months ago?

Full circle for his career. We were his first exposure to the NBA in 2009

For the vet min? Absolutely. He would take Andre's roster spot and Andre has contributed next to nothing. We're talking about end of roster guys not core rotation players at the vet min. Otto was a pleasant surprise, but that's not how it normally works and we got him below market value.

They can replace Iguodala without using up a roster spot on a guy who probably won't play half the season and will be an unknown quantity when he does recover. IMO, there are better uses for that spot.

Interesting. With Looney's performance during the playoffs, I was wondering what he could get on the free agent market. $6 million per seems low. As for Poole, you would think that he's gained enough leverage to push for a five year extension.

A five year rookie scale extension would require a salary of 25% of the cap, since they would have to name him a Designated Rookie. At the current projected cap that would be about $31M the first year with 8% raises. There is no way the Warriors would offer that. I predicted they would offer Poole 4yr/80-100M this summer and it looks like they will. It would be foolish for him to turn down such generational money in hopes of something better a year from now. So many things can happen in a year.

I'm also predicting they offer Wiggins a similar extension, 4 yr 80-100M, before next season is over. I think he'll jump at it. He's found a home here.

Hopefully, you're right. To have Wiggins, Draymond and Klay all with salaries starting with a "2" starting with the 2024-2025 season would afford the team a payroll flexibility that currently doesn't exist. Say hello again to actually being able to use the MLE!

Kings may be shopping the #4 pick and Mike Brown may want a familiar face to go to Sacramento with him. I like Poole but the Holmgren, Banchero, Smith or Ivey at rookie scale and resign GPII and possibly OPJ instead of paying Poole is a pretty good tradeoff. Most likely #4 will be Ivey, so Ivey and GPII or Poole?

That's not how it works. Not paying Poole doesn't change what they can offer GP2 or OPJ, which is the TPMLE, up to about $6M. And they're not giving up Poole to gamble on a draft pick anyway.

I doubt Brown will have that kind of clout to come in and have a big say in player personnel.

Though maybe they didn’t attract the hottest HC candidates.

Presumably they expect the HC and staff to develop a top 5 pick.

They’ve squandered so many top 5 picks …
