Game 5 let's goooooo!!!

Post#1 » by Nvnervous45 » Mon Jun 13, 2022 4:52 pm

This is our only chance since game 1 to put some real pressure on these youngsters. They have yet to have to play from down in this series and I think the key is to get up early and see what they're made of. I think part of udoka's strategy is to not get down on the road against a savvy veteran team and a hostile crowd. It's time for the chase center fans to give Boston a taste of their own medicine. Let's gooooooooooo!

Nerves are kicking in now. Tip off is (scheduled for) 2am over here so I’m going to TRY and get a few hours sleep beforehand and set the alarm!

I've got $3,500 down on the Dubs to cover a 3 1/2 point spread. It's going to be an easy peasy victory with the Warriors putting on an offensive show tonight.

I really hope you’re right!

Took 12/1 on the Dubs before the season, £50. Not the big stakes you’re putting on, but the £650 return if the lads do the business will be a nice boost.

They're going to come out hungry - can't play sloppy. Early turnovers will kill us.

Basically repeat Games 1 and 2 through the first 3 quarters. Then attack the 3-point line in the 4th Q and make them drive the paint. Anticipate kickouts when they do…rinse, wash and repeat.

Let's see the same solid defense they've settled into and good scoring games from the Stephettes. Hit those open threes.

I expect Boston to change up their defense on Steph since he has thoroughly figured out Derrick White and is patiently dismantling their PnR and double coverage. Steph will still get his, and the changed up coverage may present quality opportunities for others.

For the refs -- please please please do not reward Boston's ingrained tendency to hit the floor on legal screens and otherwise flop and flail throughout the game.

Just play with the requisite effort on defense. We keep them under 100 and we win.
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)

I don’t see the Celts changing their defensive tactics, so we need to get more from the role players. As great as Curry is we can’t ask him to carry the team offensively like he did in game 4. If we can get 25 from Poole it would be exactly what we need.

If Poole scores 25, it’s a wrap. No one is beating Steph, Wiggins & Klay getting their Finals averages and tacking on Poole for 25. Let’s be realistic…Poole will likely score 10-15.

Man I'd LOVE to see the Warriors come out firing....agressive...confident. Please no crazy "well you can't expect Warriors to shoot THAT bad again" games :(

Come on boys...come out and reduce Boston to rubble!

I agree....I think the Warriors win this if they just don't give up the ridiculous turnover stretch AND focus tight on defense all night long.

Yea, that's probably true, mostly because he likely won't play enough minutes to get 25.

Thanks! It's been a nice run. That said, as much as I think the Dubs can close this out in Boston and regardless of the spread, I'm sitting out Game 6. But...if this thing goes to Game 7, I'm going all in on the Warriors.
