Kuminga and moody extensions

So, moody a about 14M per year? Apparently both sides want to get a deal done.

Jk's situation could get ugly.

Moody at 14-16M would be great value, and it would show the org is serious about Moses's future with the team (or at minimum create a nice asset). Exciting news! I really hope something gets done by the deadline (Monday).

I don't see a JK contract coming this year, it's going to be a wait and see what people offer in the off-season situation. Just too many unknowns for both sides. I do fear a bottom feeder team with cap space offering JK a huge bag though, and it will feel like a mistake to let him go or sign him. Hopefully he balls out enough that we don't have to worry.

Jk/kerr become klay/kerr part 2 and kills the team or the team gives jk the max that he wants. I don't know what's worse.

Jk and his team hold all the cards. Mdj/lacob calling him the franchise, holding him out of trade talks, and essentially talk about him as a max player, but won't pay him the max.

Although, he could break out as an offensive weapon.

I'd love for moody to sign for the mle and the team reward him with minutes for taking the pay cut. If not, I want him traded to a better opportunity. Deni money is a good deal for both sides.

Got to give both JK and MM credit for dealing with the ups and downs of their tenure with GS, Other young players would have easily checked out.

Jk and moody haven't been treated remotely the same.

Jk may not have gotten minutes early, but he's gotten alot more minutes recently.

Moody gets dnps.

No question Moody got the extremely short end of the stick.

If they had checked out they wouldn't be in the favorable position they are in now—and make no mistake it is a favorable position. Maybe not as splendid from a remunerative point of view as the one Franz Wagner found himself in but favorable nonetheless if one looks at where James Bouknight currently is. They don't want to end up on the Patrick McCaw career path. We all know NBA salaries can be a high stakes crapshoot.

That's only because of the Draymond, Wiggins, and GP2 absences last year though, and unlike Moody, Kuminga wasn't buried behind 10 guards Kerr felt a need to play. Make no mistake, Kuminga would have been buried too if the circumstances were different. Likewise, Moody probably would have played a bit more if Klay wasn't here sucking up 30 mpg (not the case this year, but they brought in Hield, Melton, and Waters, who will probably take up all that time).

No need to sign Kuminga early. He’s not really an in between type of player. Either he plays like a star and gets paid like one or he’s someone you can probably find a better value equivalent pretty easily.

I wouldn't put much faith in the source. Shams Charania is the Vivek Ramaswamy of sports reporting.

Bouknight was a no talent alcoholic. Not remotely the same situation. Moody could easily be getting paid a lot more somewhere else if he had gotten rotation minutes.

I'm feeling this is the smart move, moving forward.

Getting undervalued MM on the cheap and cashing in now on the overvalued JK.

Would be ideal but I’m almost at the point where this season doesn’t matter (already) so.. max them both for all I care. Give Podz one too.. an SJax special. So many things have to break right this year and Kerr looks to be the same mechanical coach as always. Hope I’m wrong but this is the least optimistic I’ve been since 08-09

I don't get the comparison, other than both are Indian. I find Charania to be generally reliable and not prone too wild right wing conspiracy theories.

Oh please. Charania is a hack who's talking out of his butt hole more often than not. And, I am by no means the first to say so.

He was wrong but he is not alone in that nor does he make a career of inflammatory broadcasting. That's up to Skip Bayless's and Stephen A's. I would compare Baylor to Ramaswamy over Charania.

Darn it. Didn't know that Charania's parents are Pakastani.
