We need to stop playing Waters
Dude plays almost 20 mins a game while shooting 32% from threes and provides absolutely nothing. I understand Schroder Podz JK all shooting less than 32% but giving heavy mins to him is not the solution. If we dont have any shooting, play 3 bigs and force FO to make a move!

I agree. His presence doesn’t shift the defence. Sit him.
We’ve given Moody a decent chunk of money. Let him play.
Of those TS% you’ve listed, I can see Kuminga, Moody and hopefully Hield moving up. We need Hield to be a threat so badly.
Or just trade ‘em all.

MDJ needs to trade all these scrub guards and get centers only back, just so Moody get some minutes.

I hoped that Hield would either play to his contract or exceed it so that we could package him in a trade.
He is tanking his value so badly that we’ll be stuck with him for a bit longer.

Re: We need to stop playing Waters
I hear people saying this but I don't see them giving an explanation.
Why should we not play Waters?
If you were to be asked who are the top 5 shooters on the team, would Waters be among them? I think even those who think he shouldn't be playing will have to begrudgingly admit he is. If so then it must be admitted he actually does have a function on this team.

Yup we need to be playing buddy waters and moody on the wings together.

He doesn’t help us spread the floor and he offers very little from a shot creation and defensive standpoint.
I was hoping we’d plucked an uncut gem but he’s average to below average in most facets of the game.
Just start Moody or Hield at the 2. If Moody doesn’t step up or Hield continues to struggle, trade them. Either way, Waters shouldn’t be in our rotation.

You seem to be missing the point that shooters have synergies. It should not be a case of playing them instead of Waters, it should be a case of playing them together with Waters.

His performances this season don’t support your argument.
I am all for playing more shooters but he hasn’t proven to be one.

Waters is currently 5th on the team in cumulative plus minus at +30 behind Steph +134, Draymond +68, Hield +32, and Podz +32. Waters has been slightly negative the last few games while Moody's numbers have been trending up but maybe that's because Waters has been in a slump as shooters are prone to have.
The case for Moody isn't clear and frankly I like Waters there as a benchmark to clearly communicate to Moody what he has to do to get more minutes. We've all had difficulty in the past understanding why Moody doesn't get more minutes. With Waters there it is very easy to explain: Waters has been better.

No argument on Moody’s form this year. He has been awful at times. I’m not a massive Moody fan but I know he is better than he has shown.

Why aren’t 1 through 13 in order?
Who would have expected our team to be better at defense than offense?

Re: We need to stop playing Waters
Waters shot 3s a bit better than Moody prior to this year.
Waters has had a significant decline in 3 point shooting percentage last year to this year.
Maybe Waters is pressing because this is Waters big opportunity if he can outplay Moody. Outplaying Moody a decent 8th man is going to be difficult for Waters but Waters must outplay Moody if Waters wants to have a good NBA career.

I shared my Condo with a guy who had been an NBA starter in the 1970s for 2 years before getting injured and becoming homeless.

Re: We need to stop playing Waters
Waters was shooting 3s at 43.5% last year.
Waters was shooting 5. 3s per 11 3sA per 36 minutes last year.
So playing with the Thunder produces better 3 point looks than playing with the Warriors?
Shai created more for Waters than Steph and Dray can?
Waters may be pressing because this is the make or break year for his career.
Waters must prove that he is a rotation player. Aging scrubs get replaced by younger scrubs.
If Waters wants to still be playing 10 minutes per game at age 32 then this year’s 27 year old Waters must outplay 22 year old Moody this year.
