With the trade deadline next Thursday do you think the Warriors will make a move?
A lot of rumblings around Zach LaVine at the moment but it almost seems like it's too much smoke with too much time before the deadline.

I voted small move for saving money. All the available big moves out there either cost too much or carry too much risk (or both), so I don't think they'll do it. Meanwhile the moderate moves don't move the needle enough to make them a contender, although they might do it just to say they tried something.
Big problem is I just don't see Steph and Draymond making it through a grueling playoff gauntlet at a consistently high level anymore. If they even make the playoffs, which is iffy.

This wouldn't surprise me due to what you said about the issues with making a big move.
Getting LaVine without giving up Wiggins is appealing to me but it seems nearly impossible to do without moving Draymond which I don't see happening.

Taking Lavine's contract would be a decision and not a good one.

I think D Fox ends up on the Spurs.

I hope we are involved and end up with Wemby. Might cost us a 1st and Gui Santos though.

I have a feeling we trade for LAVINE since we can get him without giving up much and keeping the 2 time lines in check and fits what we need. As long as it’s not 2 1sts.

That would be my guess as well. No way Warriors give two first's in taking on that salary.

OK, but how do you make the salary work? Even if the Warriors send out their 4 highest salaries not including Steph, Dray, or Wiggs, they're still short of matching. So you need at least 5 players and only taking 1 back, that seems problematic.

Two timelines seem to be in check regardless. Whether it's Butler or LaVine, the deal seems unlikely to include any of the young guys or any picks besides the 25 lotto protected one Slater has talked about.

DS/GP/KA/BH/MM /LW for ZL/JP?
Then sign Spencer, post, Rowe and someone else that has no experience.
Curry/podz/spencer
Zach/
Wiggins/gui/jp
Dray/jk/rowe
Looney/post/tjd
That’s a solid 9 man rotation. Need a shooter off the scrap heap.

I think Lavine would be a disaster. He does not fit in a motion offense along with his limitations on defense. That contract is also hideous.

He played poa defense on that team USA that Kerr coached. So he’s at least somewhat accustomed to Kerr’s philosophy. And really he’s not any worse than jp/klay on defense and we won a chip with jp Klay at poa.
The contract is hideous which is why it’s laughable that they’re asking for 2 1sts when they were offering a first to take him. There’s no way he’s upgraded 3 1sts.

I agree the number of 1sts is just grandstanding.
They are well under .500 with plenty of guards, Lavine doesn’t really help them BUT if he ends up here and continues to shoot the way he has this year, Curry will become lethal.

Same.
It's **** old, undersized basketball. The league has caught up and passed us by. The odd flash of brilliance from Steph here and there just deludes everyone into thinking this team is going somewhere.
BLOW IT UP

My preferences assuming steph, dray, jk, and podz are untouchable.
1. Get lavine while keeping wiggins. Imo, that's a contender status.
2. No trades.
3. Trade wiggins for picks to rebuild.
Butler, vuc, or anything else is at best lateral.

Unfortuantely Dennis can't get traded back to Nets this year. Also, thats not enough money being sent to Brooklyn, needs to be closer to 30m going that way to give us enough room to sign players.

salary is not an issue we just need a 3rd team to ship Dennis to
