Steph tells Draymond "This is it. This is the last ride."

Post#1 » by Old_Blue » Wed Feb 12, 2025 8:44 pm

Michael Jordan's Bulls had their Last Dance. And, now, Stephen Curry's Warriors are in the midst of their Last Ride. I'm not saying this. Nope. Steph himself is saying it. There's going to be another ring. It might not be this year. But, before it's all over, it's coming...

Draymond Green: "Steph just looked more free but I’m going tell you, he looked like he got belief, that’s all it is. He said to me in Utah after the trade, he looked at me and he said ‘man, it’s crazy because it just dawned on me that like this is it, this is the last ride’. I said yeah, let’s do it!’

You can tell Steph and Dray are both energized by the trade. They have belief that they can do something. Hopefully we can get into the playoffs and see what it looks like.

This is basically the team. The only trade we can do next would be JK once he gets his extension and Lacob isn't going to do that so this is the team. The only free agents that look intriguing would be Gary Harris, Malik Beasley and who even knows if they'd be open to a vet min probably not. Hopefully we are looking at the g league and rookies next year since we'll most likely need to sign 3-4 of them.
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

Well we have a season and a half left before Jimmy decides he doesn't like the brand of toilet paper in the Warriors locker room and starts a revolt against the world, so Steph is spot on.

For the most part, I agree with you that "This is basically the team." However, there was a world Pre Luka Trade and there's now a world Post Luka Trade. In this new world, who knows what crazy $hit is possible. What if Giannis demands a trade and the Dubs throw Kuminga, Moody and a kitchen sink's worth of draft picks and swaps at the Bucks? What if the bat **** crazy Mavericks decide to flip AD for an even lesser bag of chips? Are the Kings really going to hold onto both LaVine and DeRozan? Might the Pacers flip either Siakam or Myles Turner for Kuminga? The Timberwolves are in a world of luxury tax hell of their own making. Randle and DiVincenzo would seemingly be available. There's going to be a lot of moving pieces this off-season - and that's not even addressing the insanity that will be the Phoenix Suns.

ChatGPT, make me an image of Steph Curry talking to Draymond Green, while wearing a Captain Obvious outfit.

ChatGPT, make me an image of Steph Curry as the Lone Ranger, with Draymond Green as Tonto (which in Spanish, appropriately, can mean either stupid, dumb, fool or idiot). :D

Getting Jimmy last minute fell in our favor. We would have had to give more (e.g. Kuminga plus additional picks / swaps) if we traded for Jimmy earlier. We need to thank the clippers org for not trading PG13 to us, Jazz for asking a ridiculous return for Lauri, Beal for not waiving his NTC, and KD for not wanting to return. A lot had to go our way to land Jimmy for essentially Wiggins, 1st round pick, and 2 SRPs (Dennis trade). We also got out of a bench warmer's contract in Anderson in this trade.

I was just thinking this....the front office is so lucky they couldn't land PG or KD.

Not sure how the Jimmy acquisition ultimately pans out but at least they didn't give up too many assets to get him and he is only under contract for the next 2 1/2 seasons.

Yeah that's what is great about getting Jimmy, we didn't give up much and can tell Steph/Dray "this is it" and they get their final run. Hopefully JK learns some tricks from him as well.

Giving up a bunch of our future would have been a bad idea. The team is positioned for a rebuild in 2.5 seasons, hopefully we can at least make some noise before it's over.
