The fans here are conservative. I said we should've done it like 2+ weeks ago.

Get 3rd seed, play memphis in 1st round, Houston in Second round and OKC in wcf.
Who here disagrees?

I was optimistic before the losses to Denver (without Jokic) and Atlanta. You have to win those games if you expect to move up. They might get lucky with other teams collapsing but damn, can't afford losing to inferior teams, Steph or no Steph. Without Steph and/or Jimmy, we look very, very shaky. Our defense is awful against penetrating guards (Westbrook, Trae) and athletic bigs (Okongwu, Gordon, Porter Jr.). And anyone who wants an open 3 against us seems to get all they can eat (Niang, Gordon). On the offensive end, they just revert to milling around and taking bad, contested 3s instead of keeping the ball moving. And of course the Warriors perennial nemesis, the lazy/sloppy turnovers, still rears its ugly head too often.

So play-in at best?

No way that the Dubs will be permitted to overtake the Lakers. The League will do everything in its power to ensure that LeBron gets to another Finals - Even if that means giving the Lakers 30-35 FTAs per game for the rest of the season.

I think going 7-4 in these last 11 games would be a great end to the season and hopefully keep us out of the play-in. But it will be really tough to do that with our lack of shooting.

But a couple games go sideways and all of a sudden a 5-6 finish or something like that could easily have us in the 7/8 game. I wouldn’t be surprised if multple teams of us, Lakers, Grizz, Wolves, Clips lose more games coming down the stretch than expected… although Wolves/Clips unfortunately are playing great and have favorable schedules.

TLDR: 6th seed is going to be really tough to hang on too… so i’m definitely not looking at the 4 seed yet lol

I wouldn't say that. I think they have a decent chance of hanging on to the #6, assuming Steph is healthy and Kuminga gets back in game shape. Slightly smaller chance at #5 or #7, but a pretty small chance at #3 or #4, a lot of things would have to break in their favor.

brandon87 wrote:Is it time to start reasonably considering the four seed?

Next five games are key to it, but with eleven games left and a two game deficit behind LAL and MEM, realistically the Warriors should be 3-0 when they get to Memphis, who will be playing the second night in a row (after hosting the Celtics). The fifth game in that sequence of course is @LAL but in the meantime LAL and MEM play one another - my working theory is that GS could go 5-0 and atleast one of the other two will lose two games (minimum) by way of who they play.

Warriors have the tie breaker over Memphis, but not LAL.

I don’t think there’s any doubt the Warriors can make it to 4, having home court advantage in the first round could come in very useful. Whether it’s the best position in terms of matchup come mid-April, who knows.

You have not watched this team have you? Lol we be lucky to make 6th

How about this in Jim Mora voice:
4th seed? Get down 3, 4 steps from your high horse.

Getting the 7/8 seed actually isn’t the end of the world. Especially if Steph gets extended rest now.
