Leaving out the GOAT lineup with KD & Steph, I woke up this morning debating in my head which of these lineups is going to go down as the second best Warrriors lineup of this decade+ run:

The OG Death Lineup
Steph/Klay/Iggy/HB/Dray

The 2022 Miracle Team Lineup
Steph/Klay/Wiggins/Otto/Dray

This 2025 Post-Jimmy Starting Lineup
Steph/Podz/Mo/Jimmy/Dray

Maybe I'm talking crazy and maybe it's coming off this series of huge wins, but I dunno...part of me is actually starting to think this newest iteration might end up going down as the best non-KD unit of this entire run.

the OG death was such a disruptive force to the way games were played when it debuted it's impossible to top that

current team is way stronger than 22 though, the celtics were the only really good team that year

I agree for its time the og death lineup was so far in front of everyone else in the league. But I don’t think it’s the best lineup per se.

I seem to be way higher on 22 than most but I really liked that team with all the spacing it afforded. It was the only time when the other team was like let’s force curry to beat us rather than force the others to beat us.

In terms of number of HOFers it’s wild that the 4 lineups have 5, 4, and 3.

Steph/Klay/Andre/KD/Dray = 5
Steph/Klay/Andre/HB/Dray = 4
Steph/Klay/Wiggins/Otto/Dray = 3
Steph/Podz/Moody/Jimmy/Dray = 3

But who knows maybe Podz or Moody will be the next ones lol.

I mean Steph, Dray, Klay comprise most of them. When you win 4 titles they're bound to be good to great players on the team. But Podz is going to be a really good player. Depending on how long Steph can sustain his greatness he might be able to pull Podz up to be a HOF as well.

We'll see in the playoffs. I don't see it yet since that 15-16 death lineup was incredible, shame that it ended as badly as it did.

The original death squad with HB for the first part of the 2015-2016 season was really something imo. That version certainly didn’t make it to the 2016 finals though, when Iguodala was injured and Harrison Barnes was absolutely putrid. He had been a good small ball PF particularly defensively, but something happened to him, perhaps the syndesmosis injury about a third of the way through the season had a lingering effect, but for me things never seemed to be the same after he knocked back the contract extension offer.

I want to add though that this years team has the 2nd best player on it. But we don’t really have a 5th guy. That 5th guys literally fluctuates between moody, jk, gui.

I think Moody is honestly comparable to HB or Wiggins tbh. I think we’re going to start thinking of Moody as a Danny Green or KCP.

Moody is closer to hb. If he’s Wiggins level then 25 would be a landslide.

The Poole neglect is mind boggling.

What I really like about this 25 team is that curry/dray/jimmy/podz have incredibly high iq. Feel like they should be able to solve any issues on the court.

I am a big Moody fan and he is certainly better than HB was in the play-offs when it mattered. IMO HB was pretty much always fairly mediocre at SF but when he was rolling early in the 2015-2016 season he was a very good small ball PF, particularly defensively. If the current version of Moody remains at the level he is currently at or improves further in the play-offs he certainly gives the current lineup a large advantage compared to 2016 play-offs HB. Current Jimmy Butler may be even better than Andre Iguodala who was also closer to the end of his career than to the beginning, much though I revere Iguodala. So that leaves Podz vs prime KT, a high bar for Podz, although if he continues playing as he has in recent games, a fairly large caveat I guess, he is certainly not a weak point. Then there is 2025 Curry and Green vs 2015 and 2016 Curry and Green, perhaps not a landslide victory for their former selves as they are playing now, but dependent on their aging bodies being able to sustain current form.

Better than hb, i agree, but he's nowhere close to 22 wiggs

The OP also includes includes small-ball line-ups with Green at the 5. We had, however, some incredibly potent line-ups with Looney and Bogut at the 5 over the years that warrant consideration.
