Does Malone firing make possible Jokic trade

Post#1 » by migya » Wed Apr 9, 2025 1:09 pm

With Malone getting fired so surprisingly, will Jokic see that that team is not going to get better but likely worse and demand a trade? If he does what will it take for the Warriors to get him, while keeping Draymond and maybe Butler? Would Kuminga, Podz, Hield and/or Moody, every one really, plus future picks do?

Obviously Jokic with Curry and draymond is contender for a couple of years at least.

Everyone would be interested in trading for Jokic and not sure we have the best assets to do so. It would have to be a Nico type deal where their new gm really wanted one of our guys and only our guys or Jokic specifically says he wants to play for us.

Or Jokic really wanted to go to the Warriors. He'll call the shots if he wants to leave.

Yeah Denver is never trading him unless he insists on getting out. A Jokic/Dray/Butler/scrub/Steph lineup with no bench would be pretty hilarious. In the 25 games when they were all healthy theyd be 22-3.

No it sounds like Malone was wearing thin on the players.

This is a crazy topic.

Jokic, a perennial MVP candidate on any other team, would be reduced to sitting on the bench and occassionally spelling Draymond Green as a "backup" stretch center, on a Steve Kerr-coached team.

A sign-and-trade of Kuminga for Trae Young would make more sense than acquring Jokic on a Steve Kerr-coached team.

If the Warriors acquired Trae Young, Kerr would go ultra small ("you haven't seen nothin' yet") and play half the game with Trae playing the 5 and pounding bodies with the big boys down in the paint.

You laugh? Ask Josh Hart how he liked playing center.
