Warriors @ Rockets - Game 5

Post#1 » by Twinkie defense » Wed Apr 30, 2025 5:49 am

Warriors (3-1) at Rockets (1-3), 4:30pm PDT Tuesday Wednesday, Zvaart reminds me... why do I think today is Monday? Today has Monday vibes. Anyway - on TNT and Max.

Warriors are all fairly healthy. Will Hield continue to supplant Moody in the starting lineup?

Will an on-the-ropes Rockets team shake things up? They could use more shooting.

Will Warriors close it out in game five or let the Rockets stick around?

Do the Rockets have more fight in them or are they ready for Cancun?

Yes, Buddy will play ahead of Moses. Question is whether he plays well.

Be strange if brutally frank Jimmy unlocks Buddy after all this time.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I expect this game to be a wrestling match and the refs are going to swallow their whistle. It's hilarious watching other series and there's no other series like this one. Everyone is saying there's so much physicality in all the series and yet our series feels like a completely different sport.

I dont know exactly, but at this trajectory I see that he will be kicked out from a game or/and suspended for next one. If we win against HOU, next series will be against Gobert...This doesn't smell good.

I dont know why here price him a lot. Green is elite on defence, also hurt as on offence (.310/.235/.600 2.5ast 3.3tov), but still he is our 3rd best player by far. And he would become negative really quick b/c of immeasurable value to our team, if he start to miss games due his antics.

One incident could cost as to wins (kick out/suspention) and this could be end of a series. Good examples are with Sabonis in 2023 or 2016 Finals.

another tough game that rockets will go all out.. need to match the physicality and I think Moody should start again.

3 techs, 1 flagrant foul point. Meaning 4 more tech or a flagrant foul 2 will have him suspended for a game. I think he misses at at least one game in the 2nd round, if we get that far.

I made a thread about this :
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2456588

The Rockets coaching staff seems to have directed their players to foul shooters by putting their hands and lightly pushing the hip area. They're trying to foul and get away with it, disrupting shooters.

On the plus / minus podcast Slater said Jimmy was aware that they were putting their hands on shooters and was looking for it most likely when he drew the 3 fts.

It really is hilarious at how differently our games are than every other series. You literally can't touch a shooter in other series whereas these go uncalled. You can run Steph over after a shot but god forbid you give someone a high five after a shot in another series.

It's funny how Shaq and Steph both get the same treatment from the refs.

IMO, Warriors have not played their best game yet. Curry's been great while supporting cast not so much....or without Butler.

Would love to see the Warriors play one game where Buddy, Podz, Curry and Jimmy all shoot the ball well.

Go Warriors!

I give them about a 30% chance of a win in this game and that might be generous, there's going to be a lot going against them, not the least of which is their own motivation and tendency to be sloppy with the ball, which they can't afford. Really concerning thing is the Rockets could easily be the ones up 3-1 right now by just hitting a modest amount of their free throws.

Game 1: missed 9 FT in a 10 point loss
Game 2: missed 4 FT in a 15 point win
Game 3: missed 10 FT in a 11 point loss
Game 4: missed 12 FT in a 3 point loss

That being said, Go Dubs.

Zach Zarba officiating tonight, should be a decent game -- at least we didn't get one of the worst refs or ones that hate us. I think it'll be slightly tighter whistled tonight given all the hoopla.

The biggest worry for me is that he keeps accumulating technicals as we advance. And we all know they are going to try to bait him big time tonight.

Why? If Buddy has found a favorable defensive matchup against Houston, his offense and decision-making is far above Moody, it makes no sense to put Moody back in. Moody's ceiling is so low, his future is no more than a solid 3-D wing off the bench.

I don't know about that. They won a game without Butler. They won another when Curry had an off night. Somebody besides those two must be doing something.
