Warriors vs. Timberwolves Predictions Thread

Post#1 » by Jester_ » Mon May 5, 2025 11:26 am

who ya got?

Wolves have been red-hot since the ASB. I think we match up better with them than we did with Houston though... they don't have the wings to disrupt our guard-heavy offense like Houston did, and Gobert has historically been neutralized

Dubs in 6

dono what the f we're gonna do if we make it to OKC tho

Really interested to see the results of this, the Sportsbook’s have the Wolves as favourites for the series, but I’m not sure how much of that is to do with them being huge favourites for Game 1 having had a chunk of rest versus an old team coming in tired.

IMO The Dubs are the better team, have the two best players (again, like against Houston) and although Minnesota is on a great run of form I think that all things being equal the Warriors win this series, BUT the lack of rest is a big concern and I think that is the scale tipper regarding the odds.

I got dubs in 6 or 7. Im going with 6 since I don’t want to go 7. Think going to 7 against Houston means we drop one of the first 2 games, then we punt game 5 and win at home in 6.

The lack of rest for the Warriors is the biggest concern. It's such a huge factor. In many ways the Wolves are an easier matchup for the Warriors than the Rockets. Yes the Wolves have more scoring than the Rockets but aren't as good defensively. So it evens out.

To me this series is down to how much do the Dubs have left in the tank. That's why not winning that game 6 game and getting some extra rest was such a big blow. Oh well let's see if the Dubs can over come it.

Dubs in 5. Steph cooks these fools. Will average 30+ ppg book it. Going to open up the offense. They’ll be rolling.

the two guys i worry about in this series are jaden and naz ... keeping them controlled will be key to winning

I picked dubs in 7.

I guess the main worry outside of rest is that it isn’t clear to me what the starting lineup will be. Do we go back to moody and podz / starting?

The gobert matchup seems like an X factor and then
I guess it’s whether dray can own Randle who is playing pretty well these days.

The rest and stamina will be a huge factor. Not only did we have to play an extra play in game, we also went 7, and we had a grueling close to our season where we were traveling so much.

I feel like either team could win in 5 so I'm going to say Dubs in 7, how's that for waffling? But if the Warriors win I know it's going to take more games like Buddy had in G7 from guys who aren't Steph. Like yo Moses, find an optometrist go get your eyes checked today. Post might do pretty well in this series since he can pull Gobert out of the paint, or run up the score on some 3s or do damage inside when he's out of the game — defense should be less intense and physical on everyone compared to Houston.

Game one is going to be tough, hopefully they can take game two and come back with a split.

Whenever he goes up against European centers, Draymond can't seem to control himself. Then, there's the fact that Gobert is a moron. I can't see how Draymond doesn't breach the limit for techs and/or flagrants playing against Gobert.

General board is really discounting the Warriors chances in the series. They could definitely lose it but you think people would learn by now not do discount this team.

Now we're really going to need Podz and Moody to step up. I just can't see us winning this round without them. At the very least we need each of them to have one "big" game each.

The thing with Minnesota is that they are one of the few teams that can actually out small Steve Kerr.

Ant
DDV
NAW
Jaden
Reid

Or even smaller
Conley/Ant/DDV/NAW/Naz

They are so much deeper than we are. I think they can win this even without Gobert on the court ever.

Fortunately, and predictably, Barkley picked the Wolves to win, so I'm feeling a lot better about our chances now.

Wolves is the better team so i expect them to win. Would take some big time game from Butler Curry to pull it out in 6

Houston was so strategically physical that it's hard for me to get a sense of where this team is right now. I do think both Steph and Jimmy are beat up, which isn't going to help matters. Our best chance is to shoot Gobert off the floor, which is really hit or miss these days. Pun intended. It would be nice to start game 1 red hot and be able to rest players early. Heart says Dubs in 6, head says the opposite.

We have the 2 best players (experience-wise) but they have the deeper team. It's good to be underdogs again. I mean Curry and company likes that scenario. Let's just hope the limited rest would be enough to split a win on the first 2 games.
