Warriors exploring S&T for Kuminga

It’s nearly impossible to believe Lacob would let Kuminga sign an offer sheet elsewhere and walk away for nothing. A reunion between the sides is still on the table, league sources said. But both sides are expected to explore sign-and-trade scenarios, those sources said, which would open up the market and theoretically give Kuminga the contract and fresh start he’d desire while bringing the Warriors back rotation players of immediate value. The Warriors’ decision-makers believe they need more positional size across the board — center and otherwise.

I cant see many suitors for the price tag he thinks he's worth.
I think he extends for around 25-30M/ year here because lacob loves him.

Maybe they can get a PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon, Jeff Green or Taj Gibson.

Trade him to wizards for Marcus smart and our 2030 pick back. This will help us offer more picks in a Giannis package.

I like how you're thinking but it's sort of 2 timelines again where we're splitting focus. If they really want to compete and they fail to get Giannis, they at least need a mobile, defensive PF/C with real size, Randle should be a wake up call on that, he absolutely dominated us. Draymond pulling mostly center duty at 35-36 is not sustainable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we extend a qualifying offer and he signs, we lose our mle?
I thinking there are nothing but bad options that the front office staff cornered themselves into.

They are a funny with this S/T, pipe dream…
Giddy will be paid by CHI, so only young player left in the market would be Kuminga.
Nets will low ball Cam Thomas, b/c he hasn’t other options. Also will trade Cam for the best possible price this year. So they will have a lot of money to spend.
I dont think they spend money on veterans w/o upside. Of cause they have Zaire, Sharpe, Watford, Keon who need new contracts, but all these are nowhere close to Kuminga. 3y/90mln would be worth risk for Nets. Even 4y/120mln would be ok, b/c they don’t have young talent at the moment, who needs big contracts and could wait something elite in draft per this period. If Kuminga unroll whole potential, this would be only win for Nets with very good contract, if not - nothing change b/c this is good for tanking.
Kuminga would be in perfect place. He doesn’t need others options at all. Big market and plenty of time for development, where is no point consider other options. The worst thing could happen, if GSW will pay 1 usd more….

I kind of expect jk to come back and start next year. Would assume Kerr starts curry/podz/jk/jimmy/dray. Would really need podz to avg like 8 3s a game. He went from 3.2 attempts to 4.8. That’s a tall order.

I think you’re right about what they do. I also don’t think it will turn out well.
That’s a bad defensive lineup. Still, it looks likely if he stays.

If Kuminga has been butting heads with Kerr for 4 years, giving him an extension where he's making more money will not change that situation and may make Kuminga even less likely to play how Kerr wants. So unless you want to hand over the franchise to Kuminga (who wiill jack up even more shots with a bigger contract), you better S&T him.
There's going to be a good amount of opportunitiess to move Kuminga for useful but not high ceiling players (it would be nice to also get some type of draft asset 3+ years out but that would depend on the players coming back). For instance, Chicago would probably be willing to move some combination of players like (Vucivic, P.Williams, Huerter, Z.Collins, J.Smith) for Kuminga.

He extended this season for 10 mil a year for the next 2 seasons.
His injury wasn't a repair, it was a transplant from a donor.

I'm looking at S&T scenarios and I don't see many options for the Dubs or Kuminga if he is asking for max money. Also, many teams already have young or veteran small forwards. The Dubs best bet is if he signs between 20 to 30 mill, most likely 25 mill. If he signs at 25 mill, I could see deals with Utah, Brooklyn, New Orleans, Cleveland or Chicago being made. Below are the following trade scenarios:
Dubs trade Kuminga & TJD to Utah for Kessler along with Sexton or Clarkson, possible lesser pieces or draft compensation included.
Dubs trade Kuminga to Brooklyn for Cam Johnson & Keon-Johnson
Dubs trade Kuminga to New Orleans for Herb Jones and Kelly Olynyk
Dubs trade Kuminga & TJD to Cleveland for Allen and Okoro
Dubs trade Kuminga & TJD to Chicago for Vucevic & Ayo Dosunmu
The dubs best option might be to wait and see how draft trades or the start of free agency work out before making any deals. Anybody know the date when his RFA has to be signed?

Highly overrate kumingas value. We would need to send out multiple picks in every one of those trade scenarios except maybe the bulls one. I'd rather just let kuminga walk than use any post steph draft picks unless hes a game changer.
