Best Trade Scenario Involving Draymond?

Post#1 » by Romulus » Fri May 16, 2025 5:39 am

What would it be? A package deal that includes other Warriors? Or just Draymond by himself? What trade would be good enough for you to pull the trigger?

You know if the Warriors hadn't been eliminated, Draymond was just two techs away from being suspended. At this point, do the Warriors really need the drama?

I just don't see it happening under any circumstances, that ship sailed a long time ago. If they were going to do it, it would have been after the Poole incident.

Not happening.

Steph, dray, and Jimmy will go untouched.

Maybe you're right. Maybe not, though. Hearing a lot of chatter in that direction. The offense now runs more through Jimmy than Draymond and Jimmy is much better at it. So what use is Draymond? His defense while still good is slipping. Curry wants to win now; if there's a trade out there that will improve this team, why not do it?

In year's past? I just don't think this FO could imagine how they could be better without Draymond. Now, with Jimmy on board? They just might feel differently.

Regardless, indulge the board for a moment and give us your best Draymond trade. Would it be possible to include Draymond in a trade for KD?

Why on earth would we want to trade our defensive ace who averaged 10pts, 5rebs, 4ast, on 46 eFG% ?

We need very specific players around Butler/Green to be competitive. I don’t know if it possible to get them if not a trade Green.

Agreed unless there is some kind of magical fairy dust sprinkled on us and Giannis demands a trade to GSW. Just never happening.

I would trade all three if it got picks back.

I’d wonder if Dunleavy is going to sniff around Cleveland….. something centered around Draymond and Allen, obviously the Warriors would need to add compensation to make it equitable. But Cleveland showed that they’re soft as hell and need more leadership, and Draymond can obviously help with that mightily, while Allen would give the Warriors an actual starting center. Mobley and Draymond up front would seem to be a pretty decent fit together…..

(Again, not suggesting that the value of Draymond for Allen is fair without the Warriors adding more, but just as a starting point, where each team has a need that the other can partly satisfy.)
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Warriors would do him a solid and send him to Detroit to finish his career if he is traded for a bigger package involving Giannis. Tobias Harris’ expiring is a good multiple team trade for Dray.

We can only dream…

Trade Jimmy too. I don’t really enjoy watching him play and he is OLD.

Again, I’m only dreaming.

If curry didn't go down we were championship contenters. Dray was a huge part of that.

There are so many rebuilding teams to root for, why run Steph out of town? Especially when it looked like we were a tweaked hammy and a bruised ass away from having a real shot at #5?

Bottom line:

1) Steph still wants Draymond here.

2) Draymond is worth way more to GS than he is to anyone else. Even if Steph blessed a trade, what do you honestly think Green brings back at this point? Some of the suggestions in this thread are hilarious. He’s still a positive for us, but in his current state (plus his baggage, age, and price tag) he’s a neutral asset at best, and more likely a negative one.

Dray can be traded as part of a bigger package for Giannis. Dray has said publicly he would love to play for his home town Detroit if he were to play anywhere else other than Golden State. Detroit can reroute Tobias Harris’ expiring to another team in a multi team trade for Dray.

JK can also be part of the multi team trade for Giannis.

As much as I would love for Dray to get traded, I just can't see that happening. But let's just say he is, the Dubs would have to trade another piece or pieces with him for a team to part with a star. Maybe Utah takes Kuminga and Draymond for Markkanen and Clarkson or Allen and Hunter from Cleveland for Dray, Kuminga, and Moody, or Jerami Grant, Williams, and Camara for Dray, Kuminga, & Moody.

Umm, I guess…if we’re also willing to include 4 future 1sts and multiple pick swaps.

As I said, Dray is worth significantly more to us than he is to anyone else. As a trade asset, he’s little more than a salary matcher on the books for two more years.

I would take back an awful player on a bad contract (Jordan Poole would be hilarious) if i got draft picks. Build a stable of youth and draft picks by shipping out useful vets, and taking back other teams problems.

So the consensus is Draymond is staying. And now most think JK is staying? So who's going? Or is the plan to just keep the roster the same and say a prayer next year?

You could count the dray suitors in any trade scenario on one hand with 4 broken fingers. It's the lakers. That's it.
