Acquiring LaMelo

The Dubs missed on Ball in 2020.. they have a chance to reconcile that when he's moved this season.
Kon will be Charlottes main ball handler and Ball wont fit their new lineup..
The front office should really be offering Kuminga whatever reasonably tradeable deal, and then using the first month of the season to allow him to showcase his offensive talents.. there arent many other players available who would be able to turn the team into instant contenders as a bought-in Lamelo would.. similar to the Wiggins acquisition.

No real way to fit LaMelo under a 2nd apron hard cap the Warriors will have once Horford is signed to the taxpayer MLE. Well, not unless Butler or Green are also traded.

LaMelo was my choice in the 2020 draft over Wiseman.
Davion Mitchell was my choice in 2021 over Kuminga.
Mitchell was a bit of a stretch pick but Warriors would be better off if they had taken both LaMelo and Mitchell instead of Wiseman and Kuminga.

Not taking Ball over Wiseman when the franchise was reportedly back and forth was a huge mistake. Just having that extra gear with him on the roster would've helped a lot. Maybe he would have been packaged for somebody else positionally after a year or two. With Ball more reigned in on a winning team it could have really helped him. Or maybe it would've kept Pooles contract manageable enough to move Poole for a big.
I think the franchise has really underestimated the level of competition overseas with some of its drafting.

Hard to decide if Kerr would love or hate LaMelo. I think it could go either way.

Ball is a loser. No thanks.

Has anyone noted, other than his 2nd season, that LaMelo has missed a substantial number of games in his career? (stating the obvious)
Lauri looks like a pillar of health in comparison.

I am not going to try to argue that Wiseman was a better pick than Ball. But Ball also isn't the guy I'd want, then or now. Aside from his career being riddled with injuries, he continues to strike me as a talented guy that doesn't really make your team better. If we were going big game hunting, that's not the direction I'd go in.

I don't think I would phrase it quite this way - considering that LaMelo's single best skill is his passing and a good passer absolutely can make his team better. That said, yes, he's hurt entirely too often. Which, in turn, makes his hefty salary a drag on the team. Finally, he's a grossly inefficient scorer. If he was ever in a situation where he was willing to play the role of a third or fourth scoring option, LaMelo could flourish. Sadly, I don't think his ego will ever allow him to get to such a place.

No thanks to LaMelo and I can't see the FO making that mistake.

I have never really hated a player and his game as much as I do Ball. I would absolutely hate to see him on this team.

Kerr would hate Ball, for good reasons. He's a flashy gunner who hasn't played defense since he entered the league.
Having watched the Warriors dynasty, if we don't know what it takes to be a winner by now - defense - we don't know hoops.
