I hope you guys stay with the 8th seed, not 7nth, 8th!.. This way, i could see you guys beating the Suns, who probably will have the first seed. I just want to see the look on D'Antonis face if/when Baron kills them.

it seems the rockets offense has finally started to click, even without mcgrady and they are now in 9th, only a game back from the dubs. they have had one of the hardest schedule thus far, and have only played 14 home games. mcgrady is about to return from injury and their schedule is really about to lighten up.... can the warriors hold the 8th spot ?

Assuming Portland plays around .500 ball the rest of the way, there are 10 teams competing for 8 spots. If we assume San Antonio, Phoenix, Dallas, and the winner of the NW division (probably NO) are locks, then there are 6 teams competing for 4 spots:

Lakers
Warriors
Rockets
Blazers
Nuggets
Jazz

I don't think any of these teams is so good that they are locks for the playoffs.

This one is going to go down to the wire.

One thing working in our favor is this: if the NW teams beat up on each other, their 4th best team though playoff worthy might have a poorer record than, say, the Warriors or Rockets because they are playing a tougher division.

NO isn't in the NW division. That will be between Utah, Por, or Den. And unless one of those teams gets hot and runs away with it, I see that being a dogfight till the end. I see Phx, SA, Dallas, NO, and LAL as pretty much locks.

Utah, Portland, and Denver are vying for the NW crown.

New Orleans is in the league's toughest division, the SW with Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. Portland took the NW lead with their win last night.

The Warriors are trying to take the 8 with Utah and Houston now a game behind and Warriors fans resorting to "look how easy our schedule gets" to defend how crappy our team really is. And the Pacific is not tough besides two teams, one of which can be beaten the same way the Warriors can as long... as the opponent is REALLY good or REALLY on fire with a lame gunning attack and a few gimmicks early in the season.

Even though the Warriors have a better record after 36 games this season (compared to last season [18-18]), it's going to be difficult for this Warriors team to make the playoffs--they have to make a trade to get some help with rebounding. Also, Davis is being forced to play too many minutes, because I believe Nelly knows he has limited point-guard options. Last night, Davis played less than 14 minutes, and the team lost by 18 points in Portland.

I don't believe the Northwest Division will get three teams into the playoffs. Because Portland is such of a young team, the final playoff berth could be the Warriors or Trail Blazers. Portland has to the biggest surprise and I feel they may falter down the stretch of the season--more so than Houston or Utah.

I'm wondering how in the world anybody thinks Denver misses the playoffs with their being deep and having a (relatively) healthy Kmart and Camby. WTF???

Realistically, we'll have to get a bit lucky and have Baron stay (major) injury-free to get in the dance this year. IMO it'll be tougher than last year because even though the Clips suck, Lakers and NO are levels above last year.

To me, the last three spots are a toss up. Any team could crap out and any team could go on a 10 game winning streak.

Most likely I see Utah claiming one spot and the other four fighting it out for the final two spots.

I really hope we don't blow it this offseason. I don't want to be just barley scraping into the playoffs every year. I am glad we are competitive, but the team as currently constituted will never get past the second round of the playoffs.

This team should actually be worse than last season's team. They traded away JRich and signed vets Croshere and Thud, which have not contributed. The two rookies were also supposed to add depth to the bench, which they haven't. The bench was viewed as one of our strengths to start the season, is the team's biggest problem.

Unless the Warriors bring in some help this team is likely to miss the playoffs. Hopefully Mullin, Rowell and Cohan aren't afraid of using the TPE they have been sitting on.

I whole-heartedly believe that if we don't get someone contributing from a Pietrus trade, and/or Belli and Bwright are kept on the bench, we will miss the playoffs this year. We don't have one consistent player on our team besides Beans. Inconsistency + Fatigue + Attitude = Failure.
