Artest for Pietrus and Barnes
Nellie would have no problem with the misunderstood Artest. GS would have to take Shareef for part of the trade exception too. in order to obtain such a fast intense defender.

Throw in a first rounder and it's done. GS gets their mister intensity to group again with Jackson. He is pure defense and power. And has offense. The Sac guys are hustlers who have expiring contracts

Very nice misleading title :D

It seems that for every paragraph you wrote, you added something negative in for the W's :D Thankfully ya kept it short...

So Artest + SAR for Pietrus / Barnes / 1st .... think Sacto would go for that? Ask their board... but don't get banned now ;)

:rofl2:

Good one there, 510. We all know KingExile would do that with a click of a button.

Ok let me rephrase the trade. What would you offer for Artest? and do you feel he would be a good fit for the Warriors? I'm not really a fan of either club but I was trying to think of what club Artest would excel with, along with what club would be able to give young talent with short contracts.

I came up with Pietrus because everyone says he is gone after the year and is not getting playing time, and Barnes because he would give Sacramento a decent player if Pietrus bolts from Sacramento after year end.

I'd go trade exception and a pick.

TE and a 1st would be good.

Not sure if we can combine the pick with the exception though.

Artest would give us the defensive stopper to help us get off to better starts.

I'd go

Baron
Jax
Artest
Al
Beans

Monta
Azu
Barnes
Wright
Croshere

CJ would get around 10 min.

Pietrus if here would play if Barnes isn't playing well.

Still need a center to back-up. Ob for me, for Nellie, no.

I would have done it, but a TE and a pick sound even better. Heck Artest could defend some PFs out there too! Dont forget his boy Capt Jack is here too. We would win the rest of our games for the year with that team. Not only would you have to deal with Jack and Artest throwing bombs, you got the Oaktown crowd thuggin' it up behind them. Its a match made in heaven...

Hoopshype rumor about Milwaukee interested in Pietrus. Villanueva or Gadzuric?

Me I go Villanueva. He's not perfect, but for Pietrus .......YES.

You aren't combining the pick with the exception. One way to look at it is that you don't ever trade an exception. At times you use an exception in a trade, and at the same time it creates a new exception for the other team, but an exception never changes hands. So in this case it would be something like:

Artest for a 1st round pick.

Hey! The Warriors can't do that! They're over the cap!
Oh wait - yes they can, because they have an exception that Artest fits into. Okay, sold. Deal is done, the Warriors exception just got smaller by the size of Artest's contract.

Hey! The Kings just traded a player without getting one back, and they're over the cap! Fair enough - they now get an exception for the size of Artest's contract.

At least that is my understanding. But I'm certain you can trade Artest to the Warriors for a 1st as long as his salary fits into our exception from the JRich trade.
