Looking ahead after going 3 and 4 in the last 7...I wouldn't be surprised to see the Warriors go 17-4 over the next 21. Out of those 21 they play at New Orleans and Utah and host Pheonix...Other than those...they have a ton of "should win" games....

Time to put in the kids...

The real question is, does it have a creamy center?

The teams might be creamy.... but is the Dubbs going to let another career scrub get their career game against us while we keep chucking up stupid shots? If the shots go in, we will win. If we keep chucking and shots do not fall.... uh.....

What is our record now like 20-16. If we went 17-4 over our next 21 games we would be 37-20 and virtually a lock for the playoffs. If we could spare our starter significant minutes and risk of injury by playing the young guys, they might actually develop into contributing member of our team so as the regular season ends and the playoffs begin, we could be really deep or prepared if we lose a big time player like Davis or Jackson for a few games...

"should win" doesn't necessarily mean "will win"...although i hope they win the next few games to get themselves in that winning mentality mode and play like they did last year when they went 16-5.

if we lose that underdog mentality, we're screwed. That's why i hate over estimating our team and underestimating other teams. All i can say is that we've competed so far, but whenever we play down to the competition, we open ourselves up to failure.

Everyone in the west is starting to play well. We have to take care of this stretch of games. We can't have the "what could have been".

Yup. But don't let the team know. They do horribly when they are overconfident, or just plain confident.

Man WTF what's wrong with the Warriors going 17-4? People act like we aren't capable of doing that. Last season we went 16-5 with the toughest remaining schedule in the league. You might as well say that we're going to miss the playoffs this season if you're going to be so doubtful about the team winning games. ****, acting like we're going to get worse and worse as the progresses. Got them **** up.

17-4 is completely unrealistic to expect from a fringe playoff team. You're expecting our players to put forth a consistent effort for 21 games? If we play our A-game for 21 consecutive games, then yes, we're capable of going 17-4. But we won't. That's just not going to happen. We're going to lose games we shouldn't during this stretch, simply because our players are naturally very inconsistent.

Yeah, last year we were revitalized with the trade and the push for the playoffs. These guys are playing with zero passion and the team is healthy. If they played KG level, then they're capable of 17-4.

Nothing is guaranteed. I know 17-4 isn't guaranteed, but neither was the Blazers winning 13 in a row and 17 of their last 18. Of course we aren't the Blazers, but they were considered as a bad team coming into the season and no one expected them to be so good. No one else is expecting the Warriors to be so good this second half of the season, but I still believe that they will be able to put out some positive surprising runs.

Don't get me wrong, if they don't do good during these games, i'm not going to react badly and be like, "Ohh man, we're supposed to be the best!!! Why are we losing?!".

Nah, i'm not a homer.. so don't think that i'm being completely biased when I say we can go 17-4. I know that the most realistic scenario is us going towards a more mediocre run during these 21 games, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. I'm just saying that ANYTHING is possible and this team has tools to be like lightning.

If GSW want to make playoffs... they need a strong over .500 run to keep a decent gap from utah and houston.

I'm with Cupcake on this. Nothing wrong with hoping for something like 17-4, but gotta be realistic. 14-7 looks very achievable.

At the same time though, you can't just get down on the team and expect the worst. With the relative ups and downs we've had so far, we're above .500 and in a playoff spot.

You can't play like you aren't the better team and that you could lose at any time. Sooner or later we need to start playing like a team that should win, not like an underdog. That mentality can only last so long, and could harm us in the long run if we want to go beyond the 1st/2nd round of the playoffs. Granted, there are other factors, but you can't ignore the above.

Again though, right now we aren't a team that should always tell themselves 'we should win this'. But we should try to change that underdog mentality. Yeah, it might be what got us where we are now, but it won't be what gets us further along.

Warriors weathered a tough stretch in their schedule without putting together an extended losing streak, which was the goal. They ought to do some cleaning up now that they're at home and playing weaker opponents. 17-4 would be an incredible record, but they don't even have to play out of their minds to get to 14-7, an elite .667 winning percentage over the stretch, and enough to gain some ground against the other teams vying for the 7th and 8th spots.

It's been a little discouraging to see the Warriors slump during portions of most games... and Portland was brutal. Warriors have gotten spanked a few times, but against very good teams (Detroit, Dallas, New Orleans, Portland). Probably the only loss that has been disappointing to me this season, e.g., a loss against a team the Warriors "should" have beaten, was at New Jersey. And they're .500... not exactly the NY Knicks.

I think over the next couple weeks we'll see more of the 20 point leads we saw against Memphis last night. Can't say whether that's enough to deter the wrist-slitting crew.
