Some NBA front office people think that to succeed in this league, you need five real deal NBA big men you can trust.

Unless you count light-duty rookie Brandan Wright, or dubious talent Patrick O'Bryant, the Warriors have one: Andres Biedrins. Sure, times in the NBA are a changin', but that's ridiculous. The Portland Trail Blazers are the worst team in the league at scoring in the paint, but against the Warriors this season, they have had a field day by feeding offensively challenged Joel Przybilla for easy buckets over smaller defenders.

This is a team with some players in their prime (Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson) that could use some heft to reinforce their mission in the playoffs, and the Warriors seem be designed to make some deals sooner rather than later. The team is $9.1 million under the luxury tax line, and even has room to operate under the salary cap thanks to a whopping $9.99 million trade exception resulting from the Jason Richardson trade. The team also has a $2.13 million trade exception, courtesy of Ike Diogu's traded contract, which expires this Thursday. On top of all that, Mickael Pietrus, the injured Troy Hudson, and O'Bryant are all ready to be desirable throw-ins: each is unlikely to be with the team for the long-term, and will be a free agent this summer.

So, what about this....We get our veteran backup, a shooter, and a much needed big man to bang down low with Beans

apparently the bucks want petey, but the only tihng that bucks have that i might consider is CV. hed be a good big body and he shoots the three! yay! but i doubt the utah jazz trade us millsap for bellinelli because they just got korver who is now their spot shooter.

The ESPN article is right from the standpoint that logically we need to aquire a solid big, but it's pointless if we don't get the right fit. They bring forth all of the trade assets we have which is correct (MP, POB, 2 TPEs, Thud, Salary cap flexibility, etc.), but the problem is who's available and who is willing to trade them for those assets mentioned without requiring us to take something back which blows up our cap situation?

The only thing that seems to make sense at some point is CV possibility, and that's only if Milwaukee is willing to structure the deal to our benefit.
We could use the Diogu TPE or MP to acquire him. Not sure if that would satisfy Milwaukee however.

Plus, the fact that they misspelled "Andres" is pretty embarrassing.

But they are right that we have the real capability to make a deal. I would really like to trade $6.5M of the TE + our first for Chris Wilcox. If Seattle wants MP, I'd be willing to throw him in for his fellow countryman Gellybelly.

Wilcox is a bad idea... if we get him we're getting a stopgap PF, but that would almost lead people to assume we're grooming a PF to take his spot. We aren't...

I say leave Harrington at PF until we get a coach who also isn't collecting social security, so he can wonder what the hell he got himself into and figure a way to get a franchise-caliber PF/C to the team...

The Jazz love Milsap. Hard to believe they'd trade him...they'd have to be bonkers for Marco.

I would love to have Milsap on our team, he'd fit the hole of a banger underneath (very provacative sentence wasn't it). But the question would be how he fits in with the team - more importantly with Nellie.

Aside from like you said (Utah would never do it), he had Lasme (possibly a Milsap clone) and you saw what he did with him (cut him) so I think that pretty much answers the question. And he certainly wouldn't trade his "fair haired boy" Marco for an "ugly" undersized power forward like Milsap.

I wouldn't want Wilcox on our team. He doesn't even have a discernable ounce of passion.

CV is at least more versatile than Wilcox. Is Udonis realistically possible? David Lee? Andray Blatche? Just throwing names out there...

And man, we really missed the ball on Travis Outlaw a year ago. Imagine if we had him instead of MP.

Millsap would be nice, I would just like a bit more height/length out of the big we get, if we get one at all before the Deadline. Can't argue with his toughness and rebounding though. I think it was different with Lasme because it was early in the season and we didn't really know what we'd get out of him.

Use the TE for Kurt Thomas. Low risk since his salary comes off the books at the end of the year. He can bang inside and help you against the Utah Jazz's and Spur's of the league. Call your gm.

The guy that I'd want most of all if he were reasonable, is Warrick. See how long that guy is? Would love an MP for Warrick deal.

I'd go for Warrick over Wilcox.

Warrick's energy level matches what Nellie asks of from guys a lot better than Wilcox.

Wilcox looks good when all you see is his highlights, but then when you watch a few full games, he's disturbingly inactive over a significant portion of his minutes.
