Baron needs a break. And Webber thoughts.

Post#1 » by dom80e » Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:37 pm

It is pretty clear that Baron is not right.
He usually misses a couple weeks aound this time. I think this year he is trying to prove that he can play all year, but it is seriously hurting his game.

He also does not fit with Webber at all.

I would like him to take a couple weeks off. I would give him rest and hopefully give us a chance to see an Ellis,Jack, Al, Webber and Biedrins lineup.

Webber and Biedrins seemed to work well together.

When Baron comes back I would like to see our normal starting lineup of a healthy Baron, Monta, Jack, Al, Beans.

Then sub Baron and Al for Webber and Barnes.

He's probably a little cranky right now... in most seasons, he'd be on his 2nd vacation by now.

5 days without a game, but they had that minicamp. He needs actual rest.

His shot selection will always be bad, but his finishing, shooting, passing, and defense have all been suffering for the past 2-3 weeks.

He should play against Was and Pho and then he can take off until March and only miss 5 games.

Baron is cranky because Nellie is being an idiot and sitting two of the teams 3 most efficient scorers in favor of Lurch.

You want to put the evil Baron selfish spin on it: that's a ton of assist opportunities taken out of his hands by putting a guy on the floor who moves even less than Baron does.

Give him another excuse. He was looking for a new one anyway.

I'm not offerring it as an excuse. I'm just describing what's happening.

If you're ok with how Nellie is handling this team right now, I don't know what to say to you.

I agree with the general opinion that Don Nelson steers the ship.
I agree with the general opinion that Baron Davis had the closest thing to an All Star first half this team has seen in some time.

But Baron's problems are his and his alone if he cannot finally, for once and for all,

1. Play like a grown up if he is in fact upset about personnel decisions that make it difficult for him to be the unchallenged man at all times, a totally necessary lifeline to the team's success and the only conceivable team MVP candidate under payroll at all times.

2. Prove he can play an entire season of effective basketball at full strength.

He needs to smoke Washington and Phoenix if this season in Baron World is to be salvaged, in my opinion, and I don't think I'm overreacting at all in that stance. His mood has and will continue to swing that quickly and that destructively. And here is where I agree with you on Nelson's hand in this. Nelson is baiting him. Davis was stronger than he was supposed to be and has lasted longer than he was supposed to.

Davis was upset as Monta and Andris blossomed late in Montgomery's final season and the team had fun together, often leaving the bench after games without saying a word to teammates while he was injured yet again, and Baron's considerable identity and physical makeover since then really only has two explanations:

1. Don Nelson arriving and establishing the team as Baron's Forum by surrounding him with friends and free-wheeling accomplices.
2. Contract manipulations.

Instead of hitting you over the head with the source thing again, I'll just trust your eyes saw what you say you saw from your excellent seats.

But what if you gave the same "information" with a different spin

Sleepy, I didn't mention a source at all. What are you talking about?
You're pissed that you don't know the mood around certain camps that don't make the paper? Sorry, I'll get you an ice cream cone.

The verdict on Baron was made before Nelson ever arrived.

Now the trade value is at its lowest at a convenient time for Nelson and Davis to avoid being broken up and try to prove the Warriors' board members wrong on this again with a second half run.

Davis is not going anywhere right now and I've said that many times. So he'd better start playing like a real NBA leader even when things don't go his way.

Baron's shot has been shakey, and with Webber in play, Baron is FORCED TO MAKE MORE SHOTS. That's the issue with running with Webber.

The team has a few gears now, and it'll take getting used to.

As for Baron gaining weight, it was bound to happen.
You figure offseason he runs like a diaherra, and during season he gets 40 minutes of run every other day. As stated by Nellie, Baron doesn't practice.

I just wish he could shoot like Ellis now.

Footnote: ph* all you bitches a few years ago saying Fisher was our best shooter.

I'm not pissed at all. Other than pissed at Nellie for trying to screw with an enjoyable winning team.

See the edit. I accept your statement at face value, but question the phasing and the spin you put on it.

You don't need no stinkin sources.
