Pietrus?
I was just curious about his availability. I think he would make a lot of sense in PHX now that Matrix is gone. I have noticed he isn't getting a lot of PT right now. Would you guys to a trade exception, and 2nd round pick for him?
Thanks
Thanks

Phoenix's 2nd is just too useless.
Given the likliehood of Pheonix finishing top 5, I'm not interested in the 54th pick. I would want your first. Pheonix doesn't play/keep draft picks anyway, so I don't think that's really overpaying on your part.

I'd take it. We could bundle the two seconds with our 1 or 2 and possibly do something with it. It would also free up more playing time for some of our younger guys (BWright or Belli anyone?). This is of course unless Mulson doesn't have something bigger planned. If all that Pietrus can get for us, then I'd have to go along with it.

Dont think Phoenix will want to add Pietrus' salary.
If they did want him though, i'd take a 1st rd pick... ATL's. I'd be willing to put some protections on it. Say if the ATL pick is better then our pick, we swap. If it is worse we get it, with top 10 protection. If its in the top 10, we get some 2x 2nd rd picks and 3 million cash.

Patience has run out in Pietrus' camp

(02-11) 23:50 PST Oakland -- Nobody's backing down in the Warriors' standoff with Mickael Pietrus as they approach the Feb. 21 trade deadline. Pietrus' agent, Bill McCandless, says that Golden State remains unreceptive to potential deals despite interest in his client from around the league.
"We quietly requested a trade prior to the first date on which he could be traded this season, and we've repeated this request many times," McCandless said. "There are several teams who would like to acquire Mike, and several offers have been made.
"We thought he was traded last week, but the trade was nixed at the 11th hour. Three days ago, Mike met with Chris (Mullin), and two days ago, Mike met with coach (Don) Nelson, both times repeating the trade request."
Problem is, Golden State has little incentive to make a deal it doesn't like, and its executives still view Pietrus as an important part of the team, if he can return to last season's level of play. Nelson has moved the 6-foot-6 forward, who has been playing out of position at power forward, back down to the 3-spot as Stephen Jackson's primary backup.
"Mike has been asked to play out of position for all of this season," McCandless added. "He does not want to play the 4 and the 5. Mike doesn't want to be a corner spot-up shooter for whom no offensive plays are run. He simply feels he can contribute much more on both ends of the floor for another team. He truly hopes to be traded tomorrow."
The Suns and Mavericks are among the teams said to be looking for help at the wing positions, and the Heat tried unsuccessfully to trade for Pietrus in the offseason.

How about this deal with Houston?
Congratulations on a successful trade.
There were BYC players involved in this trade, so this trade is subject to the BYC provisions of the CBA. Due to Golden State and Houston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Golden State and Houston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
