Who loves this team?

Post#1 » by scwarrior » Fri Feb 15, 2008 6:24 pm

This year and post trade last year's warriors have been my favorite teams of all time. I can sit around and nitpick certain players or moves the coaches make, but when I watch I cheer for everyone to do well. I think it's fine to evaluate players and such but some of the posters here come off with a pretty negative attitude about the team.

I can't remember a team coming back from so many deficits with big time shooting streaks, or winning nail biters. Sure, it'd be better if we were up the whole time. But god, this is fun to watch. Even when we're down by over 20 points, if there is enough time you still stay and watch! Because we can come back at any time.

So who loves this team? How do they rank in your favorite teams of all time?

You're the best W's fan of all-time.

BTW...Warriorsworld is down the hall and to the left ..just in case you're lost...That's the place to go if you like being part of the herd...Captain Caveman and Sheed are great sheep dogs...I don't think this place is right for you..Here we allow everybody to have their own original takes..Negative or positive...Warriorsworld is a comforting escape for fans who want everybody to cheer everything.

Brave soul...(referring to OP)

As for me, give me the '75 team. I seem to remember them winning it all.

I like the Warriors a lot (maybe better to say I enjoy watching them quite a bit), especially when they play well. And to be quite honest, I can't stand watching them when they play like $hit, which they do a fair amount of the time. So yo may say what kind of fan am I? Well, the answer is that I am a basketball fan first, I've proably been watching the game for over 40 years, played it and coached it as well. It is the sport which I love the most, not one particular team, unless that team plays it the way it is supposed to be played.

The Warriors are capable of doing that at times, but many times do not, meaning that they are not playing their best they are capable of which disturbs me a great deal.

I love my wife, my children and family. I do not "love" any sports teams with maybe a few exceptions througouht the years but I do enjoy the game when it's played right tremendously.

I look forward to watching every game with the fam, so for that, I love the Warriors. I am a huge fan. I thoroughly enjoy watching them play night in night out. This has to be my favorite team in my lifetime (born in '79) just because of the chemistry...and Monta has become a player that I never want to miss play. There are only a few players in the league that I feel that way about and Monta is one of em.

So, yes, I love this team in the sense (as turk put it) of loving a professional franchise. However, in terms of my wife, daughter, friends, and family...I feel its a great passtime to watch them play over most other options when at home in the evenings.

I love all the bandwagon fans from last season. I know i shouldnt hate on fans, but it is somewhat annoying when people you know never watched the warriors play or never paid attention becayse they stunk, but all of a sudden now theyre the worlds biggest warriors fans. Sure its great to have the extra fans in , but you know their gonna be gone as soon as we miss the playoffs. This happens with every team in every sport...so i guess i should be used to it...but just annoying. ive been a solid fan since 98.

fcuk the bandwagaon fans...they can exist, but i dont recognized them as fans.

heart, passion, determination...thats what the players and fans both share.
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.

I'm not willing to call someone a bandwagoner just because they get drawn in by the Warriors style and success. Arriving in good times is fine with me. The nba is trying to attract new fans and the Warriors are a part of that.

It's leaving in bad times that earns the bandwagoner label from me.

But bandwagoner or not, the board is for all Warriors fans. No one should be discouraging new members to the forum.

while there are numerous things i complain / nitpick about, on a whole, i love this warriors team (or era if you will).

Not only are we winning, but we also have a very bright future. in fact, we might have a top 5 mixture of win now and win in the future players. The main crappy thing is that one of the best warriors squads in recent memory is playing in the most stacked conference in the history of the nba. We are a top 10 team, which sadly means being 7th or 8th in the west.

I tell ya what---

This is the best forum for Dubs ball PERIOD if you enjoy intelligent and informed viewpoints stemming from a common PASSION for Warriors basketball. When I first arrived here from the sparsely populated netherworld of an ESPN Dubs board, I too was intimidated and overwhelmed by what seemed to me at time to be foundless negativity towards the Warriors. I even had LF on ignore for most of 2007.

Then I realized that regardless of "delivery tone", there is information available here and ongoing debates that put to shame any other board or radio show I've heard of.

So newbie, hang on to the ride, and just like they say in various 12-step meetings: Keep coming back....it works.
thanks dude, ...i knew well what a crap of a man is "holly"

I've been lurking here for about 1.5 years, never bothered to post until recently on realGM. Definitely the best info compared to anywhere else. I just had read so much negativity that I had to post something positive. Sometimes people post like they don't even like the team, like it's painful to watch or something!

I grew up watching run tmc and i'm from the east bay, if it matters. I remember thinking in 6th grade when we got Webber that we might win a championship his 2nd or 3rd year. Hahaha

I always love the Warriors no matter how crazy the coach is, how cheap the owner is, how dumb the gm is, how overpaid/injured/hated some of the players are.

Somehow I'll find enough positive atleast about the future to watch them. I'll love this team forever.

i'll always love the warriors no matter who's on the team....i've been rooting for them forever so there's nothing that will change that.

the bandwagon fans are OK to me because you have to start somewhere, but it can be annoying cuz I know I have some friends that were Laker fans who jumped ship last year. And they will likely jump ship again if we miss the playoffs this year.

I love this team, but I do recognize that we are playing a fairly gimmicky style of ball that will never lead to a championship.

Our current team both entertaining as hell and frustrating as hell to watch.

I fall somewhere in between the "We Believe crowd" and the incessantly pessimistic crowd on this forum that wants to lynch Don Nelson.

Its all exaggeration... riles up the homer patrol... fun times :D

I  Warriors... I want to see them in good hands. Cohen, Rowell, Nellie... they're about the $. Nellie's also more about the personal glory and stubborn-ness....The teams that make quick moves are the ones that survive for a long time, unless you have a just dominant core... BOS was a joke last season. LAL was a fringe playoff team. PHX was a regular season darling and a playoff joke. NO was considered barely a fringe playoff team - adding Chandler, Peja, and MoPete in the last couple seasons while developing West has payed off huge for them.

Our next move should be to get Nellie to evaluate personnel and get our team a traditional / old-school coach to go with our traditional / old-school new types of players, Tay-Dre-Wright. Its too late for POB... but add him to that young core and thats 4 great prospects to mold.
