IF he keeps going like he is, he'll easily get more.

Some clown on the Magic board has been arguing that Ellis will be gone next year.
Upholding the virtue of our board, I suggested that he read the article and get real, though perhaps not quite as sweetly as that.
Now, dear God, Mullin had better come through and re-sign Ellis or I'm going to look like even more of a dork than I already am.
The more interesting question, assuming that re-signing Ellis is set in stone, is whether and for how much we are going to re-sign Andris. The way his minutes have gone down as the year has gone by, I'm deathly afraid that we are going to try to low-ball him, he'll resent it and sign the qualifying offer, and then we'll lose him in unrestricted free agency at the end of 08-09.

They'll both be back.

You got to know Nellie wants to get rid of Biedrins and Wright for a better chance of winning now with his 3 ball system....Mully better hang tough ...

if that were true, he wouldn't have traded Jrich for Wright. Unless you think he was doing it to try to get Garnett.

Thanks to Kevin Martin's ridiculous deal, Monta could well average 15X his current salary over the next several years.

Would Monta's max deal be the 5/75 that Howard, Amare and Yao got?
I don't think he'll go any lower than 5/55 that Kevin Martin got.

Hopefully Martin Keeps tanking this season so we can justify giving him a little less.
Regardless, there is no way in Hell that we shouldn't sign him for the market price. There shouldn't even be a chance for another team to get him. The nation is catching on to Monta...Bill Simmons mentioned Monta in his lates article in reference to the best players under 25 yrs old in the NBA. He does something every game that no one else is doing in the NBA and it makes you want to watch the next game because of it.
If Mullson doesn't lock down AB and Monta next season it will be tragic.

At this point 5/55 wouldn't be terrible...when Martin got that contract I thought it was WAY too much...but now that Monta looks like he's going to surpass K-Mart and also be able to play point, 5/55 would be fair...I mean look at J-Rich's and Troy's Contracts

I got no problem with 5/55, I'm just saying if anyone's expecting him to sign a Barbosa type deal, 5/35, no way.

We had to make the trade pre-draft... we traded right in front of CHI and thought we were sitting pretty for Yi... MIL ruined everything (thank God).
We took the BPA @ #8... if Wright and Noah we're off the board I'd imagine we would have shopped the draft rights to whoever we took.
Basically... we didnt trade JRich for Wright, we traded JRich for the #8 pick, and had to take Wright there.
Nellie has no practical use for Wright... he makes his living finding people no one else can use.

Let's not forget that part of the reason (a big part) othe draft day deal was to cut enough salary so that we could afford Monta (and Beans).

I'd classify that as an incidental perk.... we wanted to get rid of JRich, we needed cap space, and we wanted Yi...
Nellie continues his 60% streak

the trade wasn't mentioned until after Wright was picked, so it wasn't for the #8 and Yi. Yi was gone well before the trade was even mentioned, and wasn't finalized till the 2nd round after Jermareo Davidson was picked.

you can't be serious. incidental perk? Nellie/Mullin make the right moves to get Wright, give us the ability to keep monta/Biedrins, yet you can't acknowledge that?
unbelievable.
let's just stop responding to each other's posts. fair enough?

The deal was done before the draft started... that was announced. The deal couldn't be made official until all picks had been made. Thats why ESPN announced it mid 1st round and didnt make it official until the mid 2nd...
If Yi wasn't in the draft there's a good chance this deal never goes down... Nellie sure as hell didn't make the move to get Brandan Wright... if you believe he did, feel free to pull the Nellie-love shades off any day now

You can ignore me if you want...
I apologize if my relentless optimism and faith in our roster is ruining the pessimist's dream of a 50 win season that couldnt possibly be any better
But if you do decide what I am saying is believable, feel free to join the rest of us optimists

I know about the trade waiting to be official when all the picks are made. But when a deal is made involving a pick that high (#8), they make it tentatively depending on that the guy is available. If the guy they didn't want, isnt there...they don't just say, oh well, well take this guy instead since we made this deal. No. its tentative on getting the guy they wanted.
what makes you think they wanted Yi? because all the media outlets said so, if the media says anything regarding the warriors making a move. You know its not gonna happen.
Feel free to act like an intelligent adult, if you are one.

Look at you taking it personally... dont be that guy.
There is no way in hell the Cats would agree to do it the W's way... the W's are going to turn down dealing JRich for a lottery pick and 10 mil in free money?

Where's the intelligence in that?
It would have been lunacy pre-draft to expect Brandan Wright to fall to #8... this guy was the consensus #3 going into the draft, but due to team needs and horrible drafting, he falls to #8.
There's no one else in the top 10 (outside of Durant/Oden) I could see Nellie wanting for this season... he sure wasn't thinking about the future. I'm willing to bet the agreement was that we take Yi, if not, Mully gets to decide who to take...
Isn't it weird that we traded right in front of the other big time market that Yi wanted to play for
Coincidences make my head spin
