Will the Warriors be the best team in NBA history to not make the Playoffs?
Who can the Warriors knock out of the playoffs? I think Denver is better than the Warriors. Will Dallas fall out of the playoffs? Can Houston keep playing well? If nobody gets injured, there is no team in the current top eight that I can pick the Warriors to beat out for the 8th spot in the playoffs.
I can't think of any team in the 16 team playoff format that was better than the Warriors and yet did not make the playoffs.

The best team? No way.
The team with the best record... there's definitely that chance.

Sorry my opinion cuts you so deep... There are 9 teams better than us in the West right now, regardless of record, IMO... so I dont think its possible.

Which team was better? I can imagine that some team that had injury problems having been better but failing to make the playoffs, but I can't actually think of an example. In my opinion this Warrior team really is very good, better than half of the teams that made the playoffs over the last 30 years.

It's my opinion that:
LAL/DAL/PHX/HOU/DEN/NO/POR/UTA/SAS are all better than us as it stands right now... and regardless if we make it or not, one of those teams is not going to make the cut.
The POR/DEN/HOU ones are much closer than the rest IMO... and I'd really debate the DEN one a lot. But as it stands now, with the way our roster is and the way we're being coached, I feel we're about 10th as far as actual team play goes.

Reggae is a wannabe LF. you need to get your own gimmick. the negative crap doesn't bug me, LF and Sleepy are that way sometimes but they don't bother me at all, in fact the make me laugh, their posts are entertaining. yours are just annoying.

You have 9 teams making the playoffs. Portland surprised me, but they are in 10th place now, and I think they stay in 10th place. I don't think Portland is as good as the Warriors this year. Portland will probably be better than the Warriors next year.

What I mean is, the 9 teams I listed, if the W's miss the playoffs, one of those teams will as well, and I consider them better teams than us.
The Blazers are close... Aldridge isn't the interior presence they need him to be w/Oden out, but I think they are a very balanced and deep team that can beat you a lot of ways, and have a coach who's exceptionally good @ riding hot hands and not giving players 'star' treatment.
Its arguable either way... DEN and HOU are as well. But as its well documented, I dont think gimmick ball makes you a truly good team.

"gimmick ball" or not, the Warriors collection of offensive fire power, and quick hands on defense is a load for any team to handle.
I cringe when Nellie plays Harrington at center when Harrington is already a small weak rebounder as a power forward. At this time Webber can barely move his feet. Nelson runs Baron and Monta into the exhaustion. Other than those problems, the Warriors are great.

Tonight was a prime example of what we
could be if Nellie wasn't married to smallball.
We had Harrington/Beans or Webber/Beans in the game at almost all times... the only times Beans went out is when the Celtics went on a run...
If Nellie continues to coach like he did tonight, we won't miss the playoffs, period.

If Denver gets Artest for that caca, it's over.

We need either Yao or Tmac, or maybe Camby, to get hurt, which is very possible considering their histories. Of course, Baron is just as likely to get hurt as well. But overall, I don't see the W's playing at .650 ball the rest of the year, which is what it'll probably take even if we don't play small ball.
On a semi-related note, someone needs to finish off Kobe's finger. I can't believe Raja didn't do that tonight, espeically with Kobe going off for 41. One good clean chop on his finger should do it.

He can't injure the finger any more. It'll just hurt like a SOB. Raja had his own problems taking a Shaq elbow upside the head.

The road to the playoffs got slightly less harder with Houston selling Bonzi and Mike James for BJax to NO.

At 4 and 6 in their last 10 games Dallas is the coldest of the top 9 teams in the West. I am not sure how much the Kidd trade helps Dallas. Perhaps Dallas might wind up in the out of the playoffs.

Sometimes these guys seem to mail it in (and sometimes still win), but when their backs are against the wall they're very hard to beat. It's not going to be easy or pretty, but in the end I think the Warriors make the playoffs, surpassing Denver (don't even care if they get Artest) and Houston in the process.
And Portland had their run, they're done.
