Sure he still can't shoot well... but I think he believed he made a difference. He plays hard, always hustles, and well... played AWESOME defence.

Yeah, but too bad he's not consistent.

One game he's Air France, the next game he's French Trainwreck.

while i liked his performance (especially on D) today, one game doesn't make up for the x amount of games he sucked in. (oh and x is definitely greater than 30)

Abyss... what would be the X factor in Pietrus playing well tonight?

I just read the game thread and someone made a good point. Pietrus plays good when he's playing the SF position, not the PF "small ball" position. haha should have been obvious.

Nellie should have realized this EARLIER in the season... now Mullin has the pressure whether or not to trade him. Pietrus might blossom with a new change of scenery playing SF instead of PF.

Don't trade him for the sake of trading him. Only trade him if we get back a player we actually need.

^if that wasn't a player showcasing himself for another team, I don't what else would be.

Can't wait until he's gone.

He will be missed. I remember when we beat Portland in our last game last season to clinch the 8th seed, and Pietrus was screaming in the lockerroom celebrating. lmao.

Ahh. Pietrus Pietrus Pietrus. His last game was a steller performance as he played as a starter and help beat the best team in the NBA. If he doesn't get traded tomorrow, oh well.

Yeah, Pietrus is one of those locker room glue guys. Like Foyle. He will be missed.

No siree... just thought I recognized you for a second.

It means the point has been ruthlessly and relentlessly made by the same people for a few months now... Barnes and Pietrus are SFs, Webber's a PF...

Hell, Nellie even replaced Baron w/Tay at the PG spot... and he excelled!

I miss Zarko Cabarkapa.

I remember in the 05-06 season, the team had a lot of hope to end their year. Zarko Cabarkapa was a quiet guy in Phoenix, everytime the Suns were on the road he would just stay in his hotel room by himself so lonely. And then he comes to the Warriors and meets his new friends, Andris Biedrins and Nikoloz Tskitishvili. The three quickly became close buddies even though they spoke different languages and only a little bit of English. They would eat dinner at restaurants with each other and all that cool stuff. Zarko got playing time under Mike Montgomery, and put up a stellar performance against Yao Ming when the Warriors lost to Houston. The guy was awesome.

I wonder where Zarko is now. I wonder. He's probably by himself being lonely again.. in need of some friends. :(

Oh ok. You were hella confusing me. But whatever, I don't usually read the threads here about Pietrus and whatnot. I'm usually on the General Board.

I've been lazy. My bad.

I say we keep Pietrus, let him walk at the end of the year.

Pietrus is inconsistent, makes stupid mistakes, and is not a starting-caliber player. He's certainly not an All Star, which he literally thinks he is. He made a couple nice plays tonight. I'd rather have him right now than not have him, but I'm glad the Warriors didn't overpay him last summer, and I don't want them to just give him away for someone even worse! Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy if he keeps his mouth shut and plays hard in whatever minutes (and whatever position) he's given.

edit: PS I'd rather have him than Zarko.

I'm a known Pietrus basher and often have said that he would have been paid long ago if he got back to his defensive roots.

He did that last night and it was huge. He was thoroughly into Paul Pierce, which helped keep the ball out of his hands. The only way Paul hurt us last night was by getting to the line.

I'm proud of the way he played last night and that Mickael can stay for as long as he wants.

If he consistantly brought that kind of energy and defense, he never would have become the Dunleavy of recent.

I like the guys personality, but his agent and his mouth along with his inconsistant play has made him into the trainwreck.

To bad the thought of some other team seeing him, was the true motivation for his stellar play last night and not just the opportunity to start against the best team in the league.

If Pietrus stays and plays D like last night, then it will be like we just brought in a new player. win win

mickael is not a bad player. he does have some serious brain farts though. one second you're like :o OOOHHHH!!!!! the next minute you're :banghead: ooooohhhhh! if he wasn't running his mouth yelling trade me, trade me and was more consistent i'd be cool with him. he's hella funny and i love hearing how indecipherable his english becomes when he gets all excited. but the way he's been playing this year i can take him or leave him. i'd just to see last nights productivity continue and grow throughout the remainder of the season.

I've probably been one of Pietrus staunchest supporters for a long time although I admit it's tough at times when he goes into trainwreck mode. I've said this before about Mickey Pete and I'll say it again, he's had quite a bit of misfortune (or bad breaks if you will) as a member of the Warriors.

Here's a guy who had the bad luck of playing behind the franchise player on this team, Jason Richardson his first 4 years (came into the league as a 2 guard and never really got much of a chance to play there) and was too physically immature until last year to play 3 effectively but wound up playing mostly 4 and then this year came into camp late for obvious reasons and wound up behind Bukie and then Monta at the 2 and then Jack (who some felt was the best player on the team) at the 3. So he was a victim of circumstance.

5 years in the league, a lottery pick but never really a chance to be a starter at a position he was suited for. Now (as some have finally figured out) due to Jack's injury, he gets a chance to start at the position he's best suited for (gained the strength needed to match up against most 3's) and you see a guy who could be pretty good. I think that I would make him Jack's backup when he comes back and let Barnes swing between the 3 and 4 (the way Nellie was doing with Pietrus) with Barnes at the 4 so that Nellie can get his daily fix of small ball.

I still say that Trainwreck (depending on where he winds up and who he plays for) has an eventual shot as an allstar (would just add to the list of former Warriors who make it).
