GS a destination?

With the emergence of the team as a legitimate 50 win threat in the west, will GS become a desirable destination for nba players?
For:
1) Good team
2) Fun playing style
3) Great fans
4) Bay Area quality of life
5) Stability (young core)
6) Nellie
Against:
1) CA taxes
2) Nellie

Sure, but with all our free agents, we won't have any money to lure these desired players here. At least not until Baron Davis comes off the books.

as far as what players look for (obviously a generalization)
1 - money
2 - quality of living
3 - chance to play (to make more money later)
4 - chance to win
5 - coach
6 - hotness of dance team

I sure noticed at the end of last night's game Baron and Marion were having a pretty long conversation. Do you think Baron may have been pimping the team to him? Seemed like it was Marion who was initiating too. He must have been drooling watching the way we play and probably would like nothing better than to go up against his ex-mates while playing for us next year. I doubt he's wanting to remain in Miami and there's been plenty rumors (since he came over) that Miami will be looking to move him.

I don't know if you can do a s&t and included other players as well in the package. But if we could, I'd love a Al + MP + POB for Matrix.

Ooh, hadnn't thought of that. You know, I think Matrix also has an opt out clause in his contract for next year. After what he saw last night, I think he'd love to come here.

Marion would fit perfectly in Nellie's system. He always did compare the Warriors with the Suns. Everyone knows what he can bring to a run-and-gun-style offense; defensively, he is a major plus too. Just go the Suns management; they are obviously a vastly different team without him.

A beat up All Star Mark Price is one of the only free agents I ever remember comming to Golden State.
GS in not a title contender
The Hall of Fame Coach Nelson is not here for the long haul.
These are all reasons why I doubt a player chooses GS unless signed and traded.

All cap crap aside... I'm sure Lebron would come here.
Marion-> L.V. I'm sure he'd love to play with Baron too.

Baron + SJax + Al + Nellie gives us a lot of credibility with Free Agents. I dont know what quality players we could steal away with the MLE though. I think Id rather use the money on our own FAs anyway.

Unfortunately our main selling point (near complete offensive freedom) is also our biggest issue to deal with.
It should eventually be phased out though, as our efficient trio (Beans/Wright/Tay) can't be held down for too much longer... the sooner this franchise becomes theirs, the better.

If we do amazing in the playoffs again, we'll open a lot of player's eyes as a team they'd love to play for.
*cough* gilbert *cough*
It will also depend if Baron and Nellie return for next season. Free agents would probably love to play with Baron and get coached by Nellie. LOL @ the LeBron mention. LeBron playing PF in our system would be scary for other teams.

No way, he'd demand MLE money.

It will be interesting to see what moves are made this off season. We will have Ellis and Biedrins as restricted free agents and Barnes, POB and Pietrus as unrestricted.
I'm concerned about Ellis and Biedrins being re-signed, especially Biedrins since the Warriors and him were so far apart in their negotiations.
We still have the JRich TE, which I don't think we will use, that could bring in a quality big man.

Some team has a QUALITY big man they seek to give away? I guess we can trade a draft pick for a player making X-dollars and use the TPE toward that-but the TPE expires,so if we want to up the payroll again-we do it pre-draft.
We don't have Bird Rights past season's end,as far as Pietrus goes. We have a very limited (maybe) ability to re-up POB based on basically paying as if we'd taken the option. Other teams can pay more-or less. So...We'd need to use MLE to sign one-or both for an S+T. Meanwhile.....Marion,if he opts..will be looking to get MORE $. It would be hard to engineer a deal with Marion-POB-Pietrus ALL being S+T....that's if it's even possible.

From a purely hypothetical standpoint:
PG: Baron
SG: Monta
SF: Stack Jack
PF: Marion
C: Biedrins
is a pretty sick starting lineup.

Agreed. Especially playing under Nellie.
