GS ticket/arena questions...

To all who can help:

I am a raps fan who will be in the San Fran area this weekend. I thought of checking out the Rockets game. GS is a fun team to watch, and I am a bball nut - so how could I not go?

I have a few questions. I tried searching, but you know how crappy the search function is.

1. I have been on Ticket Exchange. Is this the best place to find tickets?

2. On the Raps board, we have a ticket thread where it is easy to email people from Realgm with tickets. Is there such a thread here?

3. What is the scalper scene like outside the arena? In case it is a last minute decision, can i buy scalper tickets? What can i expect in regards to their 'extortion' fee?

4. Is it better for me to drive from San Fran or take public transit? I will be staying near Union Sq. and will have a car. I am not familiar with the area and would appreciate local feedback.

That's it for now... if there are any suggestions please let me know.

thanks for your time. :hoop:

I can only let you know what I would do. It may not be the best option for you.

1. look for tickets on ebay or the link below. I wouldn't deal with the Fila suit guys.

http://teamexchange.ticketmaster.com/ht ... m=warriors

2. No....that's kind of frowned upon here.

3. I don't know what to expect from the Fila suit guys. There may be more than the usual amount of tickets available, though, because Yao isn't playing.

4. Take BART to the game. Easy in/out and parking's like 20 bucks now.

Have a blast

thanks. I don't like dealing with scalpers, but in Toronto I have deal with a guy who gives me decent deals after upgrading with him for years.

I will be using the ticket exchange site that you listed. I am looking to go as low as I can behind the net for under $200. Are there club seats? I.e. sections that have separate bars/entrances?

thanks again.

Do the scalpers man... and try and talk to them about 10 minutes to tipoff. I used to get lower level seats, good ones, at around 15-20 a ticket when the game started winding down... especially when the crowds outside the arena start to go inside and all thats left is the security guards and scalpers

I can point out that when a season ticket holder sells tickets via TicketExchange, they are not able to list the tickets for less than the face value, which is already quite a bit more than what a season ticket holder pays. What I've found this year is that for games that aren't in very high demand, going to StubHub near the day of the game can work out very well; it is often very possible to find tickets at or below the season ticket holder price.

You asked about club seats. Yes, there are club seats. they are most of the sides of the lower bowl, and the lowest 6 or so rows of the ends. If you go to www.warriors.com, then Tickets -> Interactive Map, it will give you a good idea what you're in for.

And if you have access to BART, it is extremely convenient once you arrive in Oakland. Parking is not only expensive, but the arena facilities are poorly managed, making it difficult to get out of the arena after the game by car.

Enjoy the game. I'll be there as well...

craiglist.com is another place you can buy tix. sometimes you can get good deals from season ticket holders who can't go.

bart is the way to go if you drink. don't want to get caught w/ a dui :D

This is an incredibly diplomatic way of putting it. It is a friggin disaster most nights. The few times a year when the A's and Warriors have a home game on the same night are a humanitarian disaster as far as the parking lot is concerned.

No, in my opinion ticket exchange is one of the worst places to buy tickets at, they are over priced or at face value. It is not hard getting tickets to warriors games under face value.

The BEST place to get warriors tickets in my opinion is CRAIGSLIST.org BY far (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/tix/) Search for tickets LOWER LEVEL to maximize your experience, I wouldn't suggest sitting anywhere in the 200's.

Any ticket you buy that is in the 100's is a GREAT ticket, depending on where you want to sit, or how much your willing to spend...Your price range should likely be between $40-75 per ticket Lower level, if someone offers you upper level seats for the same price range i'd suggest holding on and checking other resources first before buying anything in the 200's.

As stated before my Stubhub.com i've also heard good reviews about.

I can not answer that personally, I've never bought tickets from realgm members.

Scalpers are biter sweet, I cannot personally say how street smart you are, or how well you wheel and deal. If your good at it, and don't think you'd get sweet talked or taken advantage of...scalpers can get you great sweats last minute for CHEAP, rapters games don't tend to sell out unless its a weekend (IMO) so scalpers are not a horrible option (but shouldn't be your first)

But to be honest, scalpers are typically street savy guys, and if your not one, or not very streetsmart or local they'll do their best to maximize their earnings...

YES, YES, YES...catch bart, from Powell St. Union square, directly to colliseum/airport stop in oakland it'll probably cost you around $6 round trip and everything will be walking distance and you can drink all you like...and bar is fairly safe as far as police and such are concerned...

P.S. GET LOWER LEVEL SEATS!!!!! If your on vacation and want to enjoy yourself, lower level is the only way to go...Upper just won't be worth the money spent unless its a budget issue. But I have ALWAYS found lower level seats for the price people sell upper level seats for, don't sell yourself short.....

unless you plan on wearing some lame rapters jersey lol, in that case...to the nose bleeds with ya!

WELCOME TO OAKLAND.

Is it me or do i find going to games useless if you have a good size TV... Its way better than looking at a distance IMO... unless you have those expensive court side seats lol.

lol, at times i feel that way...but the atmosphere at the Colliseum is great so its hard to miss out...

But there's a limit on my distance when i'm spending $

If you go to the box office sometimes they just simply charge too much for those upper level seats, and I much rather watch the game from home on tv...atleast you get good replays .

I reccomend you avoid the scalpers unless you are used to dealing with hustlers. Lots of them are cool and easy to work with, but the bad apples in the oakland area can be pretty bad. Just not worth the risk for an out-of-towner who may not know what's up. Pay the extra $10-$20 or whatever.

what you guys still sit in the lower level? you haven't heard about club 200? It's definitely the place to be, although it is pretty exclusive

LOL i hate it!! they had to do something up there.

although i've been to atlanta's arena and i must say that those higher deck seats seem even worse & wayyyy higher.

I just personally like being as close as possible when I'm at games, it maximizes my experience.
