Baron Davis for Ray Allen

Hand the ball to Monta...Let him create and let Allen spread the floor....That give us 4 high % shooters on the floor (M8-Ray-BW-Goose)..Give Jack a year to break his bad shot selection habits..He's a keeper..For now...

Baron has 1 year left..Ray has 2...I'd rather let Monta take over and have Ray out there on the perimeter...I don't want another year of Baron leadership.

With zero baron hate in my heart, I'm all for this deal.

Ray is a 82 game player. Ray is a quality shooter, and Ray is a disciplined composed veteran to guide Monta.

I really don't have a problem with Baron at all. He gave this year everything he had, but was used up. We have a s :censored: y roster that goes 5 deep and Baron had to play too many minutes.

On a deep team, Baron is an awesome luxury point guard to have in your pocket for a playoff run, but on a threadbare talentless team run by a skinflint owner Id rather have Allen as Tay's bailout than a pair of 30% 3ball shooters

I'm in.

Allen can handle the ball adequately too.

A lineup of Monta, Jax, and Allen could work... but we would need to find or draft a true pg to come in as well...

I think using Baron as a trading chip is the best way to go here...

I'm not for this.

Allen isn't an 82 game player. With his ankles, he's a 70 game player tops. Probably less if he's trying to carry a team rather than playing as a third option. He's also more likely than Baron to break down in the future.

Trading Baron for Allen doesn't help the teams luxury tax or depth issues (unless Rondo and Powe are thrown in or something like that). Baron is better, younger and healthier than Allen

Hell no, Ray is older and worse.

Ray is due to break down. When healthy Baron is one of the best, can't think it is a good trade.

Baron's already broken.

^^ Uh no. He's been super durable this year, and what good is a jump shooter who can't shoot anymore? Baron is just exhausted by not having a backup; he'll still be good for awhile. Keep in mind that playing 20 min in our frantic pace is like playing 50 elsewhere.

By that standard Ray's already quite broken as well.

Trading Baron to get older and less healthy is a bad idea. Any win now plan involves keeping Baron.

If the Warriors decide to sell high with Baron it should be a rebuilding move.

GS trades Baron for Haslem, Blount and rights to Rose
Miami trades Haslem, Blount and rights to Rose for Brand
LAC trades Brand for Baron.

^^^ i think that trade idea needs editing... if im reading correctly miami is going to trade their guys to two different teams in order to get baron and brand, but then trade them for each other....

am i drunk?

either way, no one is trading Rose if they have the chance to get him.

I would rather go younger or bigger if I'm trading Baron. As long as his Grandmother and his family are still in southern California, it is going to be hard to trade him out of the state. He may go to the Celtics if he I thought they could win it all next season, but I think with his Grandmother's health being of concern, he tells the Celtics he will not resign with them.

Deal. Coming from a boston fan. I would take that in a heartbeat.

1 Rondo
2 baron
3 Paul Pierce
4 KG
5 Perk

Is Baron that bad to deal with?

another championship.

LF you've said SG's are a dime a dozen yet you want a old, injury prone, high priced and on the down side of his career Ray Allen?

I would do the deal but why would Boston break the best record chemistry.

No actually I've said *good* SG's are a dime a dozen..I like picking up great SG pure shooters like a Reggie Miller or a Ray Allen...Ray is still on the edge of greatness..2 year deal is perfect.. imagine a M8-Ray-Jack-B-Goose lineup for 08-09.

Want no part of Ray Allen. His ankle is shot. Even Boston anouncers have talked about it a lot to "try to save his ankle" for the post season run.

Instead, I rather have Elton Brand. Lets trade for Brand + 1st for Baron. Including the first because Baron is going to play he wants to play for (in LA) and insurance for Brand since he is coming off a major knee surgery.
