It depends. It's all about value.
I'd only trade Baron Davis we received
Option A) A premier big man like Elton Brand

OR
Option B)
BOTH
1) Expiring Contracts AND
2) Top 6 pick
If we select Option B, I think we should dump Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington in a separate deal for a full rebuild.

Im certain we could get Corey Maggette, Brevin Knight, and the Clips lotto pick (8th position as of now). But Maggette and SJax would just take minutes from each other and become redundant. Although if Corey could play the SG position on a nightly basis....
Monta, Maggette, Stephen, Brandan, Andris....not so bad. Throw in Marco, the 8th pick and the 14th pick, and it could be an interesting young team.

Hmm...
That was a huge chunk of expiring contracts... not a bad risk at all considering Baron's injuries and his uninsured contract.
Fast forward to the now... Baron's #s are more impressive but on a team that's gimmicky for improving #s... played little to no defense, chucks a lot, and pouted the last time a coach tried to give him a conservative offense...
I'm sure his value's through the roof though

Well, lets go down the positive points of Baron Davis (as much as it may hurt you to read this):
-He is an expiring contract
-He is very productive (22/8/5)
-He has proven that his past injuries will not stop him from playing every single game of the season
-He has a penchant for hitting the game winning shot
-He would be an improvement at PG for over 80% of all teams in the league
-He is a marketable player to fans
You still think that he is only worth expiring contracts?

22/8/5 pace adjusted becomes noticably weaker... he's played in every game in a season once since coming here... the game winning shot aspect only applies to teams who are in the playoffs...
But if you are auditioning for Baron's agent, good show.... but there are far too many negatives for a team to give up anything of value for Baron... he wants to play on the West Coast (scratch about 26 teams right there). He makes 19 mil next season - who has that kind of money tied up in players they want to get rid of?
His attitude makes his value low... a team would have to do -ZERO- due diligence to find all this stuff out... thus, a team would have to be desperate... we were desperate when we traded for BD, and what has he shown here that he didn't in N.O. ?
Nothing. Just like his trade value.

Wow. Just wow. Where to begin...
The Warriors score about 10% more points than any team in the league, so even if you want to shave off 10% of his production then he would still be at 20ppg and 7 apg.
The West Coast requirement thing is mere speculation, not something written in stone. And I dont think that he has a no trade clause in his contract anyways, so he would be powerless to have any say in a deal.
His attitude is only considered a problem by certain posters on this board and by fans of the Hornets. Overall I dont see a problem with a guy that plays 82 Games through injury and is the leader of a near 50 win team.
The matching salaries issue could be something to consider, but thats what this thread is for. Certainly at least a few deals exist which send us back 15M worth of salaries.
His trade value is obviously higher than you give it credit for.

if the dubs trade Baron they might as well trade for expiring contracts and go into rebuilding mode. Like someone mentioned Baron needs a backup so hes not playing 48 min a game.
Greatest comment I've ever received.
