Warriors would be down 30 RIGHT NOW vs La La Land

in the 3rd Q...F**k the whole *got to make the playoffs* concept...It was always a stupid goal...We should of played our rookies so much that they'd actually be 2nd year players headng into next season.
Then add to it the idea that we quit on the playoff drive right before being eliminated? What a fricken joke of a year.

Heh. LF, you are right about getting trashed by the Lakers. So we can count ourselves lucky that we get a better pick (what is Denver's pick, #20??).
But I don't think it was ever realistic to try to coach that team for development instead of winning.

The Tank Commander should have been proud of Nellie.
He finally tanked for you once he knew it was over. To bad it took him 80 games to tank for the 14.

.
I listened to the Mullin interwiew on warriors.com...Chris said Belinelli needed to completely change his body, offensive game and defense this summer.
I never expected anything from Beli or Perovic...but I know playing O'bee and Bright substantial minutes this season would of helped more than hurt the cause..Call me a non-believer in our dleague gaurds and Mbenga.
I seriously think people are calling the 08 draft *deep* because the top5 sucks so bad compared to last year...There's not that drop off from the 3rd pick to the 14th...I like having the 14th this year..Denver can have the lakers

Yet another reason why you dont simply tank an entire season in order to get a top draft pick. Would you really have preferred to lose 60 games and the #3 pick rather than earn 48 wins and the #14 pick? Of course not.

Actually...watching the Lakers and Denver is pretty much like watching LA and the Warriors..... Denver...shoot..run....gun...no defense....no size....get a nice lead by half and then have no way of stopping anyone or scoring inside....game over...
Yep...that's the Warriors all right....
It actually took me watching Denver to realize how poorly we would fair against any time in the West not named Houston....and even they would probably have taken us in six.
A TEAM THAT CAN'T DEFEND, SCORE FROM THE BLOCK OR REBOUND doesn't do well in post season...

Can't really use this as a basis... this year is a drafting oddity... a lot of the players in the top 10 have been hyped for quite a while. Gallinari, Westbrook, Mayo, the Lopez's.... people have been waiting for light switches or glimpses of their talent shining through, and now their stock has jumped insanely because of that.
Go back to last year... Al Thornton was #14 (wont even go into why I hate that guy's style) and after that was a slew of role players. We got lucky to grab the 3rd/4th best talent in the draft in Wright at #8... also an oddity.
Looking ahead to 2009, you desperately want to be in the front of the lotto.. especially if your team needs a G. Rubio/Jrue/Evans/DeRozan...
It all depends on circumstance... I think next year should not be a forced 40 win season, as it likely will be, and we should get the young guys some PT so we can see exactly where our future is as compared to the NBA right now... find their weaknesses so we can address them in the draft, not run Baron and Jax to the bone in our endless quest to make Cohan a bit more money.

I'm in LA this week for work. I ran into Pau Gasol in Ralph's. He was buying a large package of Brawny paper towels and a few other things.

Only Kobe can stop Kobe but at least the Warriors would have had different options to throw at Kobe defensively. Denver options are so limited defensively on the perimeter they had to throw Kenyon Martin on Kobe game one.

Buki can stop Kobe
I can't help but think the playoffs Warriors would be better against these Lakers than the way the Nuggets are playing.
JR Smith is either fearless or stupid.

^^^ Both. He'd do well on the Warriors.

I love the idea of finding out where we stand this coming season..I'm with you reg510...Those 09 gaurds are worth tanking for once we get out of the playoff picture..We Brain Winters for 08-09..That dude has giant balls..He'd play the youngsters > trying to save face and win 40 games.

Those 09 guards all looked like a bunch of future Harold Miner/Bassy Telfair clones to me.

I'm sure a couple of them will be..But it's obvious you havent watch Jrue play..This guy was born to win.

That Jordan pukefest was my only exposure to him. They shouldn't show high schoolers on national TV. I think the camera adds 10 pounds of ego. It makes them all look like losers. I saw Jason Kidd and Gary play live dozens of times when they were still in High School. Nothing in that Jordan game reminded me of them at all . . . it did kinda remind me of Oakland's annual "Festival at the Lake Slam Dunk Constest and Hair Show."

Sleepy was hypnotized by Jennings

"Did your barber slip or what?"
Didn't like Tyreke? Man he looked good... Seeing two solid games from Jrue and Tyreke has sold me on them, and sold me on DeRozan being VC minus the passing.
Players like Jennings, DeRozan, Kemba Walker, and the other try-to-be-flashy players there are the result of the Nike generation... be a star, not a winner. Try and be the next Jordan, with a fraction of the talent...
Even Latrell, Rodman + Marbury got shoe deals (Converse still counts).

We would be putting up a better fight than Denver and Dallas are (maybe Houston too).
AI and TMac will never win a title.
