- Trade Baron and Jack for Kidd and Howard and DAL 2nd

- Resign Ellis and Biedrins for 6 - 55 apiece (8 year 1, 8.7 year 2)

- Trade Al Harrington + Kosta Perovic to NJ for Stromile Swift, Trenton Hassell

- Draft Darrell Arthur at #14, Marcus Dove at #45 or whatever we pick at, Keith Brumbaugh with Mavs 2nd.

- Sign POB to a 2 year, 4m contract with a team option for 3rd year at 2.5m (:sigh:)

- Use the MLE to sign Anthony Johnson to a 1 year, 2.5 mil deal and Buke to a 1 year, 2m deal.

08-09 roster

Kidd (30) / Monta (10) / AJ (8)
Monta (28) / Hassell (10) / Dove (10)
Howard (36) / Buke (12) / Brumbaugh
Wright (28) / Arthur (15) / Swift (5)
Biedrins (35) / Swift (8) / POB (5)

Going into 09, Kidd, AJ, Swift, Buke would expire, while Dove/Brumbaugh would have non guaranteed deals...

Monta - Howard - Wright - Biedrins - POB - Arthur - Dove

Would be the only contracts on the books going into 09.

Monta (8.7)
Howard (10.9)
Wright (2.7)
Biedrins (8.7)
POB (2.2)
Arthur (2.0)
Dove (0.6)

That's roughly 40m... at least enough room to max one free agent winger. Or we can draft one, trade one, whatever... could probably even re-up Kidd. But since this is ideal...

2009 Draft: Jrue Holliday
Re-sign: Jason Kidd, 2 years, 8 mil (4/4)
FA sign: Corey Maggette (4 years, 36m)

Monta (20) / Jrue (15) / Kidd (13)
Howard (25) / Monta (15) / Dove (8)
Maggette (35) / Howard (10) / FA? Draft?
Wright (32) / Arthur (16) / ?
Biedrins (35) / POB (8)

I would like to trade Baron to LA for their pick, but with Nelson already on board for next year I don't think he would allow it.

I would do the following:
Trade 1-Trade Baron, Jackson, and Harrington for Kidd, Odom and Ariza.
Dallas trades Kidd, Howard and Jones for Davis, Jackson, and Harrington.
LA trades Odom and Ariza for Howard and Jones.

Trade 2-Trade #14 for Artest using the trade exception.

Sign Duhon 3 yrs/$12M.

Draft Hardin with the 2nd round pick.

Kidd/Duhon
Ellis/Belinelli
Artest/Ariza
Odom/Wright
Biedrins/Hardin

This team has defense, rebounding, decent depth and would still be good on the break. Teams would still pack it in and dare us to shoot, but with the combination of Kidd and Odom's ball handling and passing, Artest's post skills, Biedrins' movement without the ball, and Ellis' driving and mid range I think we could get good shots. And if shots still aren't falling we could bring in Wright and go big with Kidd or Ellis, Artest, Odom, Wright, and Biedrins and just crash the offensive boards.

After a year we would have $30M in cap space to play with. If the team works we can resign Odom, Kidd and one of the FA swingmen. A more traditional coach would replace Nelson. Kidd would move to the bench and Odom to the SF.

09/10 team
Ellis/Kidd/Duhon
FA/Belinelli
Odom/2009 draft pick
Wright/Odom
Biedrins/Hardin

1.) Re-sign Monta at 5 years 45 mil

2.) Re-sign Beans at 5 years 50 mil

3.) Let Baron play this contract year out

4.) Let Buki walk

5.) Let Pietrus walk.

6.) Trade exception to Memphis for Mike Miller

7.) Sign Juan Carlos Navarro

8.) Draft Arthur at #14

10.) Draft either Taj Gibson, Joey Dorsey, Ryan Anderson, Devon Hardin with our round 2 pick.

11.) Have to find a way to grab another late first to grab Rush or Douglas Roberts.

Baron (20), Monta (15), Navarro (13)
Monta (20) Baron (10) Miller (10) Marco (8)
Jax (30) Miller (5) Douglas Roberts (5) Wright (8)
Al (20) Wright (15) Arthur (10)
Beans (30) Al (5) Hardin (8) Kosta (5)

My bench now consists of:

Navarro
Miller
Douglas Roberts
Wright / Arthur
Hardin / Kosta

Hardin may have to go down to the D league for a while to get consistant playing time. Kosta will probably get more minute from Nellie than Obee did.

Arthur and Douglas Roberts wouldn't probably see much of the D league based on being more pro ready.

Overall I feel were bigger and have 3 really good scorers off the bench with miller and Navarro being real good shooters.

Think SA would go for that?

Maggette's not my style, but a trend player in the NBA... as long as people are allowed to charge the lane like running backs, I'd like him... if our team can't get a good shot off, that's a damn good safety valve.

BRING DON NELSON BACK
Re-up Baron at 3 years, 45M
Re-up Monta at 6 years 60M
Re-up Biedrins at 6 years 66M
Re-up Barnes at 3 years 5M
Re-up Pietrus at 3 years 15M
Re-up Cro at league minimum

S&T Azuibuike to Minny for Craig Smith
Sign Turiaf at 6M for 2 seasons or Jason Maxiell.

1-Trade the first round pick to Seattle for cash. Use the TPE in another deal to get Watson or Collison.
Depending one what we get from Seattle, in the second round draft a bruiser or a pg.
2-Or trade the first rounder to Portland for Cash. TPE for Joel Przylbilia.
3- First round pick, Al Harrington, POB (S&T) to Miami for Marion. TPE for Jason Williams (i believe he has 1 year remaining on the books). Dont really want JWill, but i do want Marion.\
4- First rounder, Al Harrington, Fillers for Rasheed Wallace.

With all the committed money, trading the first pick is essential.

BREAK THE BANK AND PAY THE TAX COHEN!!!

(didnt check trade checker or anything, dont really know the longevity of the players contracts)
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

its not status quo. its adding size and a possible veteran to come off the bench and run the point.

plus....everyone favorite savior should be ready to contribute...im referring to Wright.

Barnes and Pietrus couldn't get multi year deals off their best seasons... now we're rewarding them?

Baron plays half a season and we still give him 15m per?

Minnesota signs and trades for Azuibuke when they can just sign him away for free?

Turiaf or Maxiell leaves their comfortable roles on contending teams to take a 2 year deal with us?

We trade a 1st round pick for Watson, Collison, or Pryzbilla?

POB in a sign and trade? :nonono: AND

Rasheed Wallace being dealt for Al Harrington and a mid round 1st?

Basically no trade was realistic and the rest of the "solution" was to keep our entire team intact.... you masochist...

Barnes had a bad season because he lost his mother...Have you lost your mother??? No...so shut the **** up cause you dont know what its like.

Pietrus went down with the groin...and so did the Warriors in West. Hmm... any correlation???

Turiaf leaving...ummm yes...its called Money. And its called more minutes. When Bynum comes back, Turiafs minutes will decrease.

Collison and Pryzbilia are legit. Not household names, but they are solid, and not just against us.

I dont see the major problems everyone else sees. I see that we lack size and interior toughness. Why break the core, when our weaknesses can be patched with role players.

And i said trade the first round pick for cash. Use the TPE on those players. I never said trade the first round pick for Collison, WAtson, or Pryzbilia.

No offense, especially because I like Matt Barnes' thuggish style a lot, but that's just an excuse... we've all lost family, some in more unfortunate ways than others... but to just ignore someone as a player because of a personal tragedy is pathetic... Barnes wasn't missing wide open 3s because his mom passed (RIP) - he never hit them before and went through a season where he did... Cling to that one season and ignore the 8 previous where he's been garbage.

Did you just imply that Pietrus in any way is correlated to the success of the Warriors?

So Turiaf goes back to 20 minutes getting the same amount of money (and yes, he will get at least that from the Lakers) from a championship caliber team, instead of coming here... where he'd fight Andris for the 25 actual center minutes on the team. Yeah, I can just imagine the guy drooling

Collison is a horrible defender, and can only rebound... Pryzbilla can only block shots, and mind you, thats not DEFENSE, which he is poor at.

Oh and my mistake. Cash is what this franchise needs... we need that extra cash to completely lock up this potential dynasty of a franchise right here and now

Return to Golden State Warriors
