If Detroit fizzles: RASHEED WALLACE

Rasheed has probably run his coursein Detroit. If they fail to climb above it all and contend with the Celtics, then we might have a shot at the big guy.
He'd be a perfect fit with our group as a tough minded big man that Nellie would love.
He's due to make 13 plus mil next year as an expiring.
What would you be willing to give up to grab him?
Could Al Harrington, a resigned Pietrus and our 14th pick be enough for Wallace and their first?
I think Rasheed would be a great fit next to Beans giving us the type of length we currently can't match.
A combo of Wright, Beans, and Wallace would definitely put us into another level.
Add to that the possibility of grabbing a late first rounder and maybe another second round pick like; Joey Dorsey, DJ white, Devon Hardin, Ryan Anderson, Bill Walker, Darnell Jackson, etc. then the days of undersized forwards are gone.
Detroit will probably rally against the Sixers and then find their rythm and battle the Celtics in a real good confernece finals, but there are signs of the young bigs being almost ready to take over once Rasheed goes.
He's an expiring though and my offer is probably a little weak for Detroit fans.

Like a lot of players mentioned, Wallace could help GS. The problem is that he's too expensive, both in terms of trade value and salary, for GS to get without gutting the team.
Your Harrington/MP/#14 offer doesn't work logistically as MP can't be negotiated with until after the draft, it would guarantee that GS goes well into the luxury tax (which there's no inclination Cohan will do), and Detroit would still want more to trade Wallace (if nothing else, they'd want a center, not a pf as the main return piece).

Sheed well hella help the team another Nelly player. Can shoot the 3 can post up.

Only worry is
Baron

Then Id seriosslly consider a trade for Artest.
Baron
Ellis
Sjax
Artest
Sheed
5 potential perianal AllStars. A Bear Drinking HeadCoach=Championship.

Sheed ain't a perennial anything anymore. He's the same age as Joe Smith -Stackhouse,high $ and a short term patch who's erratic and moody. Artest too? We'd be the most unstable-overpriced team this side of New York.
While we may well waste the pick and other assets...I STILL oppose the quick-fix "feel good" deal that MIGHT get us SLIGHTLY better for a year....and then we pay for our impatience. This is the Mookie Blaylock deal-but worse.
Nellie is a BEER drinker...not a BEAR drinker. Not knowing the difference can be fatal.

No giving a lotto for a 1 year rental who Nellie sees as an excuse to waste Biedrins.
I suppose we could do Al and Barnes (S+T) (we KEEP our pick) but that's the best deal I'd give.
I'd rather deal for Maxiel.

Rem be realistic.
Although I would have agreed with you 2 years ago when you said we should've drafted Maxiell. I remember you calling for us to grab him.
But now the Piston's will not just deal him easily. He's affordable and part of their future.
Sheed is easier to obtain (potentially) and he's a stop gap until the younger guys mature. He's perfect for Nellie, and the moodiness is something Nelson has been able to deal with.

Our GM Joe Dumars played against Sheed and he is the best player on our team. Joe D will be getting a new coach for Detroit Basketball soon so maybe more of his talents will be displayed next year.
Joe Dumars does not trade anyone he drafts or trades for unless they ask for a trade. Sheed is not interested in what Nellie or any other coach could do for his moodiness or his broken down loudmouth 55 year old body. Mad Max seems to be enjoying his role so I'm afraid the Warriors won't be in his future.
Good Luck in finding some bigs soon to keep Dallas and Cuban out of the playoffs.

Depending on what the Warriors and Detroit could come up with would determine if Dumars would deal or not.
Sheed would love playing for Nellie. Chuckers delight.
It reallyr depends on whether or not the Pistons can avoid an early first or second round exit out of the playoffs.
Dumars cares more about the team than he does Sheed.

The chance of Sheed getting traded to the Warriors is about 1 in 1,000.
The Pistons are going to be going deep into the playoffs once again, Sheed is their team leader, and there is no good trade involving the Warriors and the Pistons for Wallace (ie, anything with Al Harrington is not happening).
For all of these reasons this is basically a non-issue. But if you want to speculate on how hypothetically cool it would be to have Sheed on the team then you can do that.

The Pistons are a top contender in the E based in part on having a stable core that was togather awhile. The Warriors are a 9 seed who's future is probably 2-3 years away. They HAVE guys who are overly inconsistant/emotional/tempermental as well as guys too apt to chuck an ill advised 3. I see few scenarios where any deal sends Sheed to GSW. To us--he's a mere patch job,to the Pistons,he's a main cog in what can be 2 more years as an East contender. That's backwards in terms of the relative values.
