i would love to get Millsap from Utah. Millsap and fillers for Al would be ideal.

also, i believe he may be the odd man out.

I believe you are wrong.... but i believe you are right.

Utah will never give up Milsap. We'd have a better shot at AK47. Nellie wouldn't play Milsap (we had a potential Milsap in Lasme and he got cut).

As for Al's value, that's a very good question (and a tough one to answer). I think that there's a number of teams out there who he could help, but I don't think they see it. The question is what they'd be willing to give back in return. He's likely going to have to be part of a bigger deal in order to move him. Maybe him + TPE could get us something that we could use.

Al would be a great fit here if he was our 7th man SF-PF and if he made 7th man salary..

I like Al's ability to come out with massive energy just when the team needs that shot in the arm...He's also a verastile defender..He's a good player.

Too bad about his rebounding.

Actually, having Al as the 6th man makes the answer yes. Wright could start, but the ability to come in with Al off the bench makes this a no-brainer (imo). Wright would only need to play half the game (24 minutes on avg.). A Wright/Al combo at the 4 I think would give us a less tired Al and a better rebounder/inside presence (in Wright) part of the time and I believe we'd get more consistent play out of the position (let the little guys go back to playing the little positions). Maybe Al could even get some minutes at the 3 (I'd like to see how he did there).

A SF/PF with shot legs that cant go for more than 20 mpg? I dont see teams running over each other to get Al. We're stuck with him unless hes filler.

To be honest, I'd much rather it be Jack who goes and not Al, although I'd settle for both of them being moved (if we could get a "blue chipper" as a replacement).

As much as I dig Al, there ain't gonna be all that much of a trade market out there that doesn't put a big dent in our talent (even with Al's limitations.) The right answer is to tell Cohan's bookie to eff off, and let him back up Dre and Brandan at either position despite him being overpaid. Just pretend we're paying our backup PF 4.5 and our backup C 4.5 and it doesn't hurt nearly so bad.

non-emotional Jack sucks. thats how he has to be. i miss the Jack that gets furious with the refs and gets tossed. I see a correlation with a player getting tossed and his teammates stepping up.

im saying he has value, but i dont think anyone wants him. if we trade him we are getting the lower end of the deal.

Harrington for Dice? roughly equal contracts, Dice gives you defense and rebounding, yea you lose some athleticism but you get another true big man who can pop the mid range jumper on offense and can defend big men decently. Fillers can be added if necessary I just wanted to float the idea out there.

I think you're confusing cause and effect. Jack didn't get emotional down the stretch because his feet hurt and it made his game suck. He wasn't playing bad because he was "behaving." He was "behaving" because he was sad about how much he sucked with a bad toe.

I do understand what you are saying about Al. He's worth more on the court than he is in trade, even if his legs fall off at 65 games. You aren't going to get that 65 games worth of contribution from what you would get in trade. So, you manage him better. You prepare enough depth so that you can rest him on nights when his legs are acting up. Heck, send him home for "surgery" in January. It's been done with big men since the beginning of time.

Its about all we can do... I'd love to draft another PF, and limit Al's minutes to 20s, citing depth and rebuilding as the reasons for his decline in minutes... use him all season, build his value...

Next season, we have a useful player making 10m in expiring cash... if we run him into the ground, he becomes just an expiring - not much difference value wise, but enough IMO to make it worth it... so unless Nellie's willing to give Biedrins and Wright 30+ consistently (:rofl: oh man) we'll likely see Al for 25-30 in a running team... around February Al's legs will be as soggy as wet noodles again

McDyess is a good bench player. We need a starter though. Id like to get Maxiell. Id package the first rounder and some to get him. Maxiell would look like an allstar with us. Turiaf, Millsap, and Maxiell would look like all team NBA players.

Energy players are not going to look as good for us as they do against us.

Dice has a mature controlled powerful game. That's more what we need than a bulkier Barnes with no 3 ball.
