The top player on my list is Gilbert Arenas. He's young, proven and can play both guard positions. Monta Ellis and Arenas would be dynamic scoring duo for years to come and would have no problem scoring. However I don't know if these two guys could play together and co-exist. Washington has played better without Arenas but the biggest question of this deal is how well Arenas plays after his knee surgery. Will he still be the same type of player?

I think we should go after a proven SG since Ellis has shown he can play some Pg.

I'd want Michael Redd from Milwaukee or Andre Iguodala from Philly...We'd have to do a BD 3yr/51million sign and trade in order to get the contracts to match with Redd.

From Philly, I'd take Dalembert, Iguodala and future first round pick or Andre Miller.

From Chicago, I want Ben Gordon or Hinrich and Tyrus Thomas/Luol Deng.

From Toronto, I'd take TJ ford and or Calderon,Parker plus a first round pick.

Michael Redd would not require any extension for Baron to get done but Milwaukee is only interested in moving Redd- a premier scorer in his prime- if the return is of the highest quality.

Incidentally, Al Harrington held tremendous appeal to old Milwaukee leadership.

Scott Skiles will not be on board with a move for Baron Davis to play for them under any circumstances and the Warriors will not move Baron or Al for the terrible contracts Larry Harris sidled Milwaukee with.

If there absolutely has got to be a deal due to Barons demanding an extension this offseason...

Umm...No unless the knicks land the top pick I wouldn't make any deal with the Knicks.

Kevin Love will be the most overrated player in the upcoming draft. His game will not fit the W's style of play. The weaknesses in his game will exploited at the NBA Level.

The Knicks just became a very interesting trading partner possibility for the Warriors but a lot will depend upon where they end up in the draft. Kevin Love at #5 is absolutely ridiculous, though, and I'm curious as to how much of him you've been able to watch?

Baron and Al might net Marbury and Malik Rose plus the pick, but not David Lee. More importantly, we are unlikely to be in a position to trade Baron for a draft pick, only for a drafted player, because of his option timeline.

I'd draft Love 5th ..No problemo...Heck I'd pick him 3rd for the warriors.


Does he have flaws..Of course..They're easy to see..But this kid is ruthless ...+ the top end of this draft is way overrated right now..that's why this draft seems deep..Anytime the frontend sucks, the 10-20 are going to seem loaded for bear.

I'd have a hard time drafting Love 5th, but he's already played in the NBA.

The Memphis/ UCLA game is chock full of NBA players.

There are no Lebron's in this draft, so everyone here is a level below. Don't expect the moon and you won't be disappointed.

I'd draft Love though and he'd be starting many breaks for Monta.

Monta would Love love. so would Beans. I see a Brad Miller type who blocks shots here. Brad Miller on the Warriors could do nice things.

Why do you guys want Love? Isn't he a center? We already have Andris Biedrins.

isn't that kinda pointless? if we get rid of Baron, it basically means we are opting to rebuild around Monta/Wright/Goose. Why use Baron to get another player that would only be useful if we are trying to compete in the West. Baron and Brand, now that could work... however, only one of them keeps us hovering around the 8th seed.

Baron for 1 or 2 serviceable, semi young players and a top 10 pick. For the Clips i would want Maggette, Livingston, and their 08 and 10 first round picks.

and in response to that knicks trade. I'm pretty sure they would throw in David Lee if it meant getting rid of Marbury's contract/bi-polar tendencies.

I kinda like the maggette deal. We can maybe even then package those 2 clipper picks, and our pick 14, and Livingston for the rights to Derek Rose.

Obviously would need to sign a few big men to fill in*(joe smith), but i like Maggette on our team, he can actually get to the line and make hit FT. awesome 6th man or start if Monta starts at PG

Rose is also a perfect Baron replacement. Big body that can help Monta on the defensive side. I would even be willing to throw in a 2nd rounder or so.

btw, more than likely, it would be the 6th pick and 14th pick, plus a future clippers 1st for either the 1 or 2 stop to grab ROSE. Like i said we would also throw in the often injured Livingston.hell, id still love beasley if he was there.

I would think most teams would take that deal.

#6, #14 and Livingston won't even get us close to a top 2 pick. Do you think we're the only team that knows he's injury prone? We'd be lucky to get #5 for Livingston and #6 now.

I would do the Maggette/#6/filler deal for Baron deal though. It seems like a good one for both sides IMO.

if the Knicks are going to put themselves in a position to make a run at LeBron, wouldn't they need to keep Marbury's large expiring?

If so, Baron Davis and his expiring contract would be equally important to them... If they really are going to get themselves under the cap, then they need to rid themselves of Curry/Randolph and their ugly contracts... if they drop into the #3 spot in the draft I would guess that they would use that pick to help move one or those two contracts for expirings.

having said all of that, is there any move you would deem exceptable where the Warriors send out Baron (and possibly Al, since his contract expires right before the LeBron-athon), with the #3 or 5 pick and one of the malcontent fatties coming back this way?

The added bonus here for the Knicks (not that their fans would like it), would be stinking it up for the next two years, adding a couple top of the draft talents to build around LeBron.

If we were to end up with the #3-6 pick, then maybe we work with New Jersey to trade down and grab Love at a more appropriate spot + pick up a late 1st round pick.

Randolph is their main problem. Curry's deal is bad, too, but not that bad.

No one else but Crawford, a presumed keepable player relative to the other in-house options but someone currently in a late-Indiana Stephen Jackson on-court phase that might be best served by a change of scenery, holds them back for 2010 signings.

I think Mike Miller is a name you'll here associated with New York a lot and there is an easy way to get that done with the Rose contract.

The Warriors can wait to make decisions- they have to because of Baron's timeline- but I still see moves that put Baron in New York for decent return our way if the Warriors can commit themselves to moving on. They almost did last year but now they're dragging their feet again.

As a knicks fan I laugh at that deal. We are not trading the pick for Baron, Biendris is a different story.

Lee, and the Marbury for Baron is the best I would offer.

I'm also on the "Love bandwagon" and would like to see him on the W's. He seems to be in the 8-15 range on the mock drafts but I think he could move up by draft day.

Someone please set me straight on this but wasn't Love's Dad, Stan Love, an NBA player? (I do know that his uncle, Mike, is the lead singer for the Beachboys). Therefore, Love's got to know that the more he prepares for the NBA by getting in shape and losing some pounds will help him move up and get a better rookie contract. He's no doubt pumping iron right now.

The Knicks pick at #5 would almost ensure that the W's could get him.
