Warriors Trade
Al Harrington
Kosta Perovic
Marco Belinelli

Warriors Receive
AK47
Stromile Swift (Absorbed with TPE)

Nets Receive
Al Harrington
Kosta Perovic
Marco Belinelli
#23 Pick

Nets Trade
Richard Jefferson
Stromile Swift (Absorbed with GSW TPE)

Utah Trades
AK47
#23 Pick

Utah Receives
Richard Jefferson

Why for Utah
After another disappointing playoff loss, they are going to need to look to make some sort of a move. Jefferson is a more natural fit at SF here. Sloan will fix any defensive problems he has.

Why for the Nets?
This trade is all about planning for the 2010 off season and making a run at Lebron. There are a few things that need to happen to make that possible. 1. They need to drop Jefferson's contract. 2. They need to fill their roster with cheap young contracts that will allow them to have a full roster, while keeping salary down. 3. They need to remain competitive in the meantime. This trade accomplishes all three. Harrington can put up 18ppg out of the PF spot in the east. He is also a local boy with a great attitude, and his contract comes off the books just in time for the run at Lebron. With belinelli along with another 1st round pick, they add two young players that will still be on rookie contracts by the time the 2010 offseason comes. By dumping swift, they save some cash, and free up playing time for their young bigs.

Why for GSW?
We pick up a couple of bigs that could actually get some run in Nelly's system. AK47 is the ideal Nelly PF, and Swift can replace Pietrus' super athletic bone headed plays. We keep our draft pick and select Joe Alexander, then bring in Duhon with part of the MLE. Resign Azubuike to a 3 year deal, and bring back Barnes and Croshere for the vet min.

Davis/Duhon
Ellis/Azubuike
Jackson/Alexander/Barnes
AK47/Wright
Biedrins/Swift/Croshere

You trying to start a brick layers union in Oakland?

When you're already neck deep in a hole, you're not supposed to try and dig yourself out.

We ignore our major problems (chucking, poor shooting, rebounding) and essentially throw a toothpick down a hallway concerning our defensive problems... and at the same time add to another huge problem (salary concerns).

AK makes what, 13 mil? + Barons 17, + Jax's 7, + Monta and Biedrins extensions (about 16-20m)... thats a 53 million dollar starting lineup that only has one good shooter in it, and he's only good from inside the arc.

Combine that fact with the fact that Nellie's still here (unless you fired him and I missed it) and the guy will melt down by Thanksgiving.

:o

Which makes it almost worth doing.

If you are so worried about salary, then we can probably take Swift out. Considering that we are also giving up Harrington's contract, taking back AK isn't all that bad.

Based on talent alone, this is a very good deal for the dubs, and I honastly think adding a player like AK will really improve our defense. When we play defense, we win.

AK makes 15, 16, and 17m the next 3 seasons... Al makes 9 and 10... taking back AK is nearly doubling Al's salary and then adding a season, and his impact (defense) can be negated by his fragility... there's not much to like here.

i think we would have to include our #14 to NJN. otherwise, not a bad trade proposal.

This is a year too late (getting AK). I would be all over this deal a year ago but now it will add more trouble/problems than benefits. Plus, Wright look to have the same tools and more.

Nothing really changed last year, AK's contract is simply too big.

NJ would still do it, even without Swift or Perovic.

I don't think AK's salary is too much of a deal... since Baron is going to be gone.... Foyle's $7Mil is off the books after next year.

And GSW is still over the salary cap even with Baron gone without this trade.

So... I don't mind this trade at all. At least Dubbs will have a good defender outside of Biedrins to help make up all the defensive mistakes from Baron and Monta.

By the time BW needs a new contract, AK's will be up.

Do we really need AK's contract?

Don't need his contract, but need his ability to defend against 4 different position. Pair him up with SJax, GSW has 2 guys that can defend almost anyone.

It should be okay as long as it does not pass the luxury tax.

Kirilenko is an intriguing player. Makes too much but so do a lot of guys... I would have rather had him than Foyle, Dunleavy, Murphy, Fisher. And Swift is expiring.

Seems to me AK47 is better than any of the guys the Warriors are sending out.

Probably not enough value for the Nets, but if the Warriors insist on passing on player upgrades for cap reasons, that's a sad state of affairs that will never have them catching up with the Lakers.

Overpaying for bad players is a bad strategy, as we've seen around here. But if you're not hitting home runs in the draft, paying a premium for really good players is the next best way to go.

Kirilenko's 2003-2005 continues to impress part time NBA fans in 2008.

So you think Al is better than him I guess?

hmm... wouldn't be ROWELL making a point if there wasn't someone being insulted. I'll assume that was directed at me.

you never did answer my question as to how many players this past year had a box score of 20 points 11 assists 11 rebounds 4 blocks and 6 steals?

Apart from his ugly contract, AK still has skills, and is still relatively young.

If you're insulted by Kirilenko's near total deterioration and basic lack of consistent game/health in the last three years while making a ridiculous amount of money to share time in the last two years with Paul Millsap, I'm sorry. All I can do is offer you the solace of knowing that the Warriors will NEVER trade for Kirilenko on his current contract. As for individual box score lines, I presume you drafted him in your fantasy league and are still bitter?

In the words of Clay Bennett, Boo hoo.
Kirilenko is a non-starter for the Warriors front office.

nope, no fantasy team this year, and I'm not insulted by any part of his game. Watching him play it's obvious that he still has the tools to be the player that Mr Miller dedicated all that money to.

will he be a Warrior? Most definitely not.

As for individual box score lines, I presume you cannot find a single one that matches the skilled effort he displayed that night.

Haven't bothered looking, I know enough about his game and attitude to be thoroughly unimpressed. He's not a frontline NBA player anymore.
