Just wondering if this would work considering the Knicks have had alot of talk with you guys
Randolph is 20 and 10 guy and Al fits our system.
Your thoughts...

Not much thought put into this one.
You do know Running teams don't win championships. We need big men, like Zack, to clog up our weakness with Baron and Monta always keep on reaching trying to steal the ball. Andris can't do it all, and Wright is still learning. Zack can tutor Wright also. Hopefully Nelly decides to retire and we play traditional half-court basketball.

Even with as much grief as Al gets around here, prepare to be scorched.
First off, this trade doesn't work under the CBA.
Zach's also got almost $50 mil left on his deal, while Al has less than $20 mil remaining.
Where's the incentive for the Warriors helping dig the Knicks out of cap hell?
And do you really think the Warriors would take on that kind of money for someone who wasn't absolutely central to their plans?
Even if the CBA rules were suspended for this trade and the teams also exchanged first rounders, I don't think the Warriors would bite.

Tutor him on what? How to get arrested? Or how to play selfish ball and chuck? We already have Jack and Baron to teach him how to do that.

counter offer.. since the Knicks are looking for a SF possibly with the 6th pick... the Knicks draft for the Warriors while after the draft the Warriors send Pietrus for Malik Rose.. Pietrus knows the running system.. Malik can rebound for us and we get a lotto pick with it
as a bonus, knicks fans get Abyss as a new fan also

Zach will remain a Knick until Isaiah lands his next job (doubtful)... other then waiting for his contract to run out... Knick fans better hope Billy (King or Knight) takes hold of the reigns of some unfortunate franchise.

thanks for the sig Boogie!

GSW would have to ship a pretty substantial salary out for cap balance and that skews the value balance. Who would we add? Belli + Kosta?
Zach is not as bad as Curry, but his D and mobility would be some problem-and his contract really is a deal kill unless the Knicks lure us with their draft pick...which they won't care to do.
I'd be curious actually to see how-and if-Nellie would adapt to this. Certainly Zach isn't gonna be much in transition--but then you don't NEED a 5 man fast break. We'd rebound. We'd have an inside scorer.
We'd have a guy hard to shove around on D...though otherwise Zach's D ain't good--but a well constructed plan could have Zach's bulk let Biedrins be more effective on D.
Of course....Mully would have to talk Nellie and Cohen into this.......

pretty unlikely.

CENSORED... No comment.

I agree with your analysis here... and especially the fact that you don't need a 5 man break...
...but there are way too many "ifs" around Randolph to want any piece of him and that contract.
You figure one day he HAS to come around and be willing to do what it takes to become an effective contributor to a winner... but I'm willing to let someone else work out those kinks...

Think about what Nellie's imagination would do with this clip...

Yeah, Zack should be able to show BW how to put on some pounds.

Actually, I think Zach could work for the Warriors, but he is an awfully expensive experiment. Will he pass the ball on offense and will he show up in shape for Nellie. I would pass on that trade, because that contract is almost as bloated as Zach is.

Portland had the right idea with this guy... they basically said "give us Steve Francis so that we can cut him, and Channing Frye so that we can play him limited mins off the bench"... and they came out on top of this trade.
stay away from Zach.

Hey GS fans, I'm a Blazer fan and I assure you that Zach Randolph will not have nearly the impact on GS as Gasol had on LA. Zach is a slow, tweener PF who can't play a lick of defense and is a very low percentage scorer for a big man. While his numbers from his last season with Portland may look appealing, I warn you, he is too selfish to contribute to a team's success. Yes, there's a slight chance of him paying off, but why take the huge risk at the price he's being paid? If you expect him to be a big man who'll "clog up the paint", you're absolutely right, he'll clog so much of the paint the rest of your team won't be able to drive to the basket.
