Rule of thumb:
Whenver Chad Ford throws in a line such as
"I'm also hearing <insert player name> is being made available", what he really means by saying he's "hearing" is that he's reading the articles of other columnists and then regurgitating it as if it's his own Insider information.
Notice what Tim Kawakami wrote in his article a two weeks ago:
http://origin.mercurynews.com/opinion/ci_9331276If Mullin doesn't fall in love with any of those players, he might want to jump higher in the draft, which leads to . . .

I think all of his other posts in this forum answer that last question.

Sheed is a stud. Hes tough, rebounds, hits freethrows. Plays big minutes. Plays big. Allows Biedrins to slide to the 4 slot. Mental toughness.
Baron, Monta, Jack, Biedrins, Rasheed.
Nellie says you need 3 stars to fight for a championship (Baron, Monta, Sheed). If you cant raise one, buy one.

only if you could convinced Sheed to sign a contract to coach the Warriors once he retired in 2 years.

hmmm ... Wright is 20... Sheed is 33... why not wait on Wright a bit?
But wait.. Baron, Jack, and Sheed on the same team???? Would Stern even allow that? Or could we just trade for Artest and sign J.R. Rider too?

The #14, a future pick and Harrington for Sheed? sure
#14 and Wright (and you'd need to throw Harrington and someone else in for salary matching)? No.

i dont think they want (need) Al Harrington. Wright is intriguing. But Wright and #14 doesnt get it financially done. TPE for Sheed doesnt work straight up.

It would have to be Wright Harrington #14 for Rasheed and #29.
If the line up of Rasheed, Jackson, Biedrens, Monta, Davis plus not much of a bench doesn't work Rasheed and Davis can be traded at the deadline.

bringing in Sheed means we want to play with the big boys in the mighty west.

Of course Detroit considers Sheed's poor play a big reason why they lost to Boston. At his age and flakiness giving up Harrington for him is a good deal. Adding #14 is questionable (and certainly not adding a future pick), I'd prefer adding Belinelli instead.
Adding Wright is a horrible trade for GS.

Which means you're out two lottery picks for nothing.
In theory, you have Wallace to contend now and work with Wright from a skillset perspective.
You don't put Wright in this deal.
Doubt they take Marco either. Toss them the #14 and a future pick and try to find a third team for Harrington.

I woudn't trade Brandan *or* the lottery pick to get Varejao. Trading both is completely out of the question.
