It looks like we lost the draft thread.

Re: Draft Thread
I still think we should add a pick to our process this year.
I think we will probably end up staying at 14. I'd like us to move up and grab Love, but that is unlikely as well.
but with the late first and early second round talent adding another pick would be prudent THIS YEAR. Especially because we don't have alot of money to fill out the roster.
So if we stay where we are and then add anothet pick, then I'd like us to draft a big potential guy with the 14. And then use the other 2 picks for some guys that may not have as much upside, but are clearly able to contribute and be part of the rotation right away.
Love, CDR, Rush, and Arthur are guys who I see as having a smooth transition into contributing.
Second rounders like Dorsey, Anderson, DJ White, Darnell Jackson, are guys who appear to be able to contribute right away also.

He just seems like a great fit next to Monta. 6'7" big guard along side lightening quick Monta with Memphis connections. About the same age. It'd be a nice fit for our future.

I really, really hope we pass on CDR... we need more basketball players. Real ball movement.
BTW, these new boards are brutal... cost us our 150 page draft thread and the ability to navigate. Not impressed so far, at all.

Re: Draft Thread
I like Lopez and Love, but I don't see a good way to trade up to get them. They aren't worth the price to trade up to 3-5 and even if they fall to 8-10, what would GS offer to move up? Wright + #14 is a backwords move, and I really don't like the idea of trading future 1sts. I'd give up #14 + Belinelli for either one but I don't think teams will trade down for Marko.
There should still be solid options at #14 (at least one or two of Sprights, Alexander and Arthur).
If GS is going to stay under the luxury tax, I would like to see ownership use some of the tax money they receive to trade up in the second round into the 30's.

Was it a sticky?
We lost at least one sticky on Chicago Forum

Re: Draft Thread
and Golden State — which has the 14h pick — are more than willing to unload their picks. Golden State has shown interest in Villanueva and Bucks power forward Yi Jianlian in the past.

I still think there's talent more useful than Villanueva at 14... so I hope we don't do this... but CV seems like a decent fit at least...

Re: Draft Thread
Neither CV nor Yi is worth what they'd cost us. Despite their size,we got about as much rebounding -D-Basketball IQ from Pietrus.
If we stayed at 14,I'd like Alexander but the combine probably boosted him to top 10. Speights is a bit too "Project" for Nellie to use,but is a lot more advanced than Jordan who's behind where POB was when we took him. Rush? Roberts? Roberts is a bit more aggressive penetrating,Rush has more range...but still-he's a guy who scored 13 per each season at KU...not impressive for a SHOOTING G.
I'd trade down #14 for Utah's #1 and Morris Almond...who I like better than Rush or Roberts.

Re: Draft Thread
Was just about to post it... now we really can get him as that 2nd round steal at 49. But will his knee ever hold up? That's twice now in the course of 2 years...
Last thing I'm going to post for a while too, the board is just too horrid looking and is a pain in the ass to post... hopefully come back when they fix everything or revert back to the old style.

Re: Draft Thread
Shame about Bill Walker. It seemed like he was back on track after some bad luck. I hope that he can still go back to school after rehabbing next year.
Regarding that workout list its as I expected it to be...full of athletic big men and athletic, big SGs.
I am a bit wary of Speights now. He is too talented to be such an unspectacular performer in college. People question his work ethic and desire. I don't think that we need another project big man with poor motivation.
I think we end up drafting a polished SG/SF at 14 and then adding the bulldozer big guy in the 2nd round, with the possibility of adding another pick early in the 2nd (look for a possible deal with Portland, who wants to deal picks). If we could pull this off I would like:
14- CDR/Rush
33 or 36 (from Portland)- Hardin/Hendrix/J.Thompson
49- Dorsey
Baron/Monta
Monta/Belinelli
SJax/CDR
Harrington/Brandan/Dorsey
Biedrins/Hardin/Kosta

Re: Draft Thread
At 14 Speights is still my favorite pick.
At 49 hopefully Mario Chalmers falls and with the way Ty Lawson is slipping he also would be good value.

Ajinca is my pick at 14.
F**k playing it safe with a Rush or CDR..Those two have no upside...
Picking Ajinca is a swing for the fences...-Dave Kingman-
I like this new board about as much as I like CPH-Mod fiasco...Nice choice goofballs.

Re: Draft Thread
this sucks...status quo RealGM...get with the program.
the Warriors need not do what RealGM did...complete make-over.
id let Memphis take Monta and try to get their pick. id be all over Mayo if possible. im telling you, him staying in a triple threat position is very valuable.

Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010
