It's so lonely in here...

Don't know why not a lot of you guys are posting...But, I'll start a new topic.

A handful of small forwards are on the trading blocks (Richard Jefferson, Gerald Wallace, Josh Howard, and Tayshaun Prince. To name a few), according to Chad Ford (ESPN) and Detroit Free Press.

I think it would be wise for us to acquire Tayshaun Prince or Josh Howard (Not too sure for him cuz of Cuban) for Al Harrington + Kosta Perovic/POB (re-signed) + 1st or 2nd round 2009 pick.

Why: For us, it would allow us to utilize Brandon Wright more at PF, and possibly draft Jason Thompson to get some minutes. Detroit will have a good scorer in Harrington (but lose that defensive prowess in Prince). I think they need to score in bunches now for none of the Pistons aren't much scorers themselves.

Only Prince would really interest me, and we have Wright already and they are roughly of the same mold.

Howard doesnt have much court vision and his shot is pretty shaky.
RJ is pretty good offensively and a joke defensively. He's right up Nellie's alley.
Wallace is probably one of the most overrated defenders I've seen in a while, proof positive that people love to judge players based only on boxscores. If he continues to develop his shot he gets closer to where his perceived value is at, but no reason to pay what CHA probably wants for him.

I dont see any potential trades that aren't clearly for the future that I would want to do... the players available this offseason are extremely overpaid and overrated right now. The short list of players I'm fond of trading for (as main pieces) - Kidd, Bibby, Odom - are all on ECs.

I would love Prince on this team since Detroit is looking to start rebuilding. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.

We'd start Wright and Biedrins on the frontcourt, but would we start Tayshaun or Jackson, or would we play Jack at the 2 and make Monta come off the bench?

[crickets]

What does Detroit need for Prince?

I would give them #14.

Trading posts for wings isn't a great idea for GS. GS needs Andris, Wright, Al (or a substitute), and 1 or two more useful bigs. On the other hand GS already has 3 very good starters on the perimeter and a few possible depth options.

Of course I doubt Prince or Howard come anywhere near that cheap.

definitely don't think prince would be given up so easily. plus, how much in are we need in of a small forward? if we were able to get prince for the above-mentioned package i'd do it, but i think it would take more.

that's the thing....Prince is basically Jax fine tuned to the piston's system. When the Pistons think "rebuild" what they mean is trade a fast fading Sheed while they can. Prince probably is less + to us than to many teams-including the pistons. jefferson could help-but he's big $. G Wallace is neat, but he has hit his plateau. Riight now i'd think the Bob's have a price tag on him that makes him a guy who's good to have...but then it's a deal where what you end up paying means no gain. Josh Howard..similar except Dallas is a legit contender.

Another name to drop is Diaw. his $$$ hit is such that he may be packaged with #15. Diaw is a chameleon, very very versatile....just not great at anything except perhaps passing as a point-forward.
Mostly....unless the plan is to deal both AH and Jax and get a top Sf and ??? help at PF-C, Ikinda doubt it happens. Jax-Monta-Azu are a pretty good 2-3 trio and both Wright and Al H can play some 3. belli might emerge at SG..or not.

With Al-Wright a bit "tweener' and no backup C or "POWER" type PF...we can get a significant lift from a low profile guy like Craig Smith
CENSORED... No comment.
