What do you think the chances are that the Warriors make a move on or before Draft day? Voice your opinions. I'm going to say 20% they do.

I think there is a pretty good chance, 50% that a deal is made. The Warriors have been as busy as anyone in discussing trades this off season.

Def something will go down, either get out of the lottery and get some help on the bench, or move up in the draft .and get rid of some scraps.

chad ford is reporting some (probably) bogus deals for the #2 pick again but if it has some truth to it, should the warriors try to go for broke and acquire that pick to grab Michael Beasley?
will warriors fans do Baron Davis (who picks up his option), Brandan Wright, #14 for Shawn Marion (who's picking up his option) & #2?
i know i will.

I think we should trade for another pick to get Westbrook. Then at the 14 get Spieghts.
Future:
Westbrook
Ellis
Wright
Spieghts
Beans
I think that westbrook and ellis would play great together. The good thing about westbrook is that he actually plays good D

Not sure it can go down exactly like that, and GSW would be wanting a strong hint Marion is a keeper...but that's hard to pass up. Marion + Beasley could be a pretty special front court punch. Us getting outboarded would cease to be an issue. It would be hard to sell to Miami since we under-used Wright which can't help his market value. Meanwhile....we can't add to that package and still come out well, losing Baron disrupts things, forces new tactics.

I think we make a move, but after the draft.
We have been working out a lot of wings. I think we pick one of Rush, Lee, CDR, Walker at #14 to replace Pietrus/Barnes/Azubukie. Pick a backup PG in the 2nd. Then we use part of the TE to pick up a veteran big on a short contract. Use the LLE on a veteran pg like Lue or Johnson.
Davis/LLE
Ellis/Belinelli
Jackson/#14
Harrington/Wright
Biedrins/TE
I selected 20%, because I think there is a slight chance we move Harrington for a pick before the draft and use the TE to round out the roster. Something like Harrington for Swift, Van Horn(released), and #21. Use the TE on Watson.
Davis/Watson
Ellis/Belinelli
Jackson/#14
Wright/Swift
Biedrins/#21

Converting Al to Swift and a late pick is a setback, though IF (big if) we made good use of the pick it could pay off later. Even with the instant expire on Van Horn, Watson would add a bit to total payroll.
Using #14 to just replace Pietrus/Barnes means we tread water and that whole " we get outboarded" thing probably just gets worse. Azu > SG's available at #14. For that matter...so's Pietrus (at least if used at SF) I still doubt we do much MLE/LLE or TPE stuff. I expect Watson is back as a backup PG and that turns out to look pretty good before long. Nellie won't want to just let Azu go when he's low $...which then we spend on some new mercenary...while we waste our pick to fill his niche as 6th man.

I think that westbrook and ellis would play great together. The good thing about westbrook is that he actually plays good D

.....and the bad thing is he can't shoot well enough to start and still has borderline PG instincts. High risk of going down as a draft blunder. If we trade up it's on the clock and Love or Alexander is still available at 10-13.
More likely is a trade down,or dealing a player and adding a lower pick.
In a trade/draft scenario....you never want to base value totally on "Best Case Scenario" or you end up with Joey Graham and assorted NY Knicks, plus a vague hope Fran Vasquez is a real person.
Suppose Westbrook is yet another semi-big combo G who really isn't able to play PG full time and can't manage a 10 pt game as a SG? Might as well have just kept Pietrus for D if that's all we get.
There's a lot of good college defensive players who you can pick up after they go undrasfted. We ought to keep an eye on them.

I don't really like it either. It is not what I would do, but it what I think is going to happen.

As much as I dislike Swift and think he's a bad fit, he would shave 1 year off Harrington's deal (Swift is expiring I believe) so I'd have to consider it. But I think we can do much better myself.

Swift is like Monta Ellis, just as dumb.

Maybe, but definitely not as good.
Actually, Monta is a pretty smart basketball player. You can't really judge a guy's smarts who's playing for Nellie (his style lends itself to playing non-fundamental basketball).

Monta Ellis is a train wreck.
