The Hamilton for harrington + Belli is a deal too good to happen, even though we'd need to swap Hamilton somewhere for frontcourt help. Likewise....Detroit won't simple give Prince on a "take over payments" deal. Sheed is a guy fading fast and a guy who won't be anyone we'd figure to re-sign. He's always had a tendancy to go "trainwreck" or just mail in a game where he chucks a few bricks and plays D for 10 min out of 25. Trouble is those "not good" games got a bit more frequent and he's a guy who scored about 12 1/2 per but is paid star money...and is slipping. ANY deal where we give ANY asset of value beyond the short term for Sheed is a loser. The Sheed that WAS is no more. Sheed-Lite ain't worth the $$ he gets--which is why Detroit---a Win-Now team is eagar to cash him in.

Billups-Baron? A rather lateral move at best. Trouble is that this then means each team has to adapt to a new PG..and teach him the modified tactics...so even if it's perfectly equal value....each team has some setback for a month or 2. Beyond that? Maybe the new mix is better...maybe not. Frankly, I think Baron has a slight edge in talent but Detroit gets a lot off a core that has many years togather.
Out of the context of a team that's meshed well for MANY seasons---I really doubt most of the Piston's regulars do as well someplace else.

Harrington, Belineli, Kosta for Wallace (works in trade checker)
Trade Exception, #14 and future conditonal #1 pick for Prince (his salary is $9.5 mm vs. up to $9.9 million exception).

Detroit drafts young big at 14. They get younger, stock a future pick, and acquire a $10 million exception that they can use in the next year or not use and reduce payroll.

Warriors may go over luxury tax, depending on Ellis \ Beindrins contract, but if so it will only be for one year as Baron \ Wallace will be $30 million in expiring contracts. Nelson gets a team with a legit chance to compete (Beindrins, Wallace, Prince, Ellis, Baron.....bench of Jackson, Wright, Barnes, Azubuike).

That's crazy. If true, Dumars is apparently blowing things up. And why would he want Baron over Billups?

Sid pulled that out his arse from a trade suggestion by a Boston fan on the Pistosn board.

It was hinted it could be more than the two teams and possibly just a salary dump deal for the Warriors.

i love Baron, but ill take the deal easily.

Sheed and Billups can both hit big shots.
Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

The Pistons and Spurs are in large part, cases of teams without a top tier roster, overachieving from having a TEAM that's stuck togather and built a unity and a method and has stuck with the core concept..just polishing up details and gradually weaving supporting actors into the script. In theory you could ship Hamilton to NYK for Crawford and a future #1. Does it make the Knicks a winner? No. They get some improvement...maybe 4-5 more wins but now Rip plays with Curry and Starbury, not Billups and Prince...and the chemistry is like mixing a good Scotch with Drano. Gets ya buzzed but tastes like Steel Reserve.....and then you die. Terrible waste of a good Scotch.

Prince may be the best 13 pt a game guy in the NBA..but we give Al...Kosta,Belli ( who was a rd 1) #14 and a 3rd rd 1 in the future for Prince and a fast fading and flakey Sheed as a very big $$$ temp? This MIGHT add a few wins for ONE SEASON ...then turn into "what the hell wuz we thinkin"

Further.....we tack on most of the TPE...so adios Azu-Barnes-Pietrus who for what they cost are rather effective....in fact you could look it up and find that those 3 pretty much match what Sheed+ Prince scored last year.

we put Prince's 12-13 pt per in the lineup and park jax? Okay....Jax wasn't an efficient scorer-but that does nort really make for much boost. Sheed....Harrington....Do we get 2004 Sheed? Uh...no we get 2009 Sheed and that's too bad because 2008 Sheed declined enough that the difference in him and Harrington was no longer much.

I can just imagine the W's later having at F Prince and B Wright. "Daddy, why do the Warriors forwards have no shadows? " Our whole lineup would weigh less than Shaq. We could trade in the team bus for a VW beetle.

Billups is perfect with Monta and Beli in the backcourt

Rasheed is perfect to play alongside LWB and Brandon Spelled Wrong.

I'm loving this feeling

"The Pistons and Spurs are in large part, cases of teams without a top tier roster, overachieving from having a TEAM that's stuck togather and built a unity and a method and has stuck with the core concept.."

With that said, isn't this the best way to get there to that championship, and through players that are perfectly suited for this method and know how to win and are leaders in their own right? People that play good D and have good size on the floor and are unselfish and possess leadership qualities?

Pick _______ with the 14th pick.

So the rumored deal is the deal I mentioned earlier....

Billups + Sheed for Davis + Harrington...

As a Pistons fan, I'd hope to include the Maxiell for 14 swap.

Maxiell will be better than anyone at #14 for at least a year or two...

Detroit won't need Maxiell at PF (not with Al, Dice, and Amir) as they will need a real Center prospect at #14...

I like the original trade for both teams.

Billups and Sheed would really help the Warriors make a run in the West.

Davis and Harrington get the Pistons younger, although Davis jacks up too many shots for my liking.

I can see what why a Piston trade would make sense. However, I would do the trade straight up. No pick.

Why would we want to trade a guy who killed AK47 last season in the playoffs?

As a Pistons fan, I can say that it makes no sense to simply trade Billups/Sheed for Baron/Harrington...

Detroit needs a center coming back... Sheed has the size to defend centers in the post I don't think Harrington is going to be pushing Dwight Howard out of the paint...

This makes more sense for Detroit...

DET trades: Rasheed Wallace, Chauncey Billup, #29
DET recieves: Zach Randolph, Baron Davis, #6

NYK trades: Zach Randolph, #6
NYK recieves: Al Harrington, #14

GSW trades: Al Harrington, Baron Davis, #14
GSW recieves: Rasheed Wallace, Chauncey Billups, #29
