Love could fall to 8

Post#1 » by Mylie10 » Thu Jun 26, 2008 3:49 am

.1) Derrick Rose seems to be a lock for Chicago.

.2) Miami may move this pick for #5 and Mike Miller. Memphis takes Beasley.

.3) I always thought Love was the pick here, and he may be, but arguments have me thinking they want the star power of Mayo to team with Jefferson. My hunch is Love, but the argument has me thinking.

.4) Bayless appears to be a lock here. They need Bayless and will be looking for takers on Watson and Ridnour.

.5) Miami could grab Love, but I think they want a center which spells Brook lopez. Love can play center, but it's just a feeling. Lopez and Miller gives them a nice draft.

6.) Gallinari will go here. To many ties and they actually need an SF.

7.) Clippers don't need Love as long as Brand and Kaman are around. Augustine is the next best PG, and the Clips need a point.

That leaves the Bucks at #8. Now the rumors of Harrington in Milwaukee have come legs. If we take Bobby Simmons off their hands, then maybe dropping 5 slots, but picking up a nice upgrade over Simmons (Harrington) will be attractive to them.

Al and #14 for Simmons and #8. We get Love here.

So if Minny doesn't take him at 3. Or if Miami goes past him at 5. Then I jump all over this one if it's possible.

Miami isn't going to blow off a opportunity at Beasley or Mayo just to take Mike Miller.

The Mayo hype machine these last few years is truly amazing to follow.

Am I the only one that's not completely sold on Love? I didn't see a whole lot of him, but what I did see didn't wow me. I've actually been a bit surprised by the draft projections for him.

I'd add his left nut except we have to take Simmons.

Love looked pretty damn good for a big freshman hauling 20 extra pounds of butt around. He dropped most of the baby fat and that moved him solidly into the top 10. The only trade ups I see working for us would be for Love or Alexander and I don't see us paying the price to move up further than 8.
I'd figure Mullin has scouted around and has some rough ideas. How much can you prep an on-the- clock deal without it backfiring? Naturally...it's best if someone approaches us with an idea ( but no..we ain't dealing Biedrins to get #6 from the Knicks....no Not Monta either....no we never said we wanted Marbury....sorry....Jerome james for #14? That's just awful.....I gotta go,time to walk the dog.).

At 49...hope for Lester Hudson. Can be a good PG real cheap. Reggie Williams would also be a great sleeper pick. I hope we bag a couple of rd 2's from Sea or Port..or a late #1.

GuitarMan, you are not the only one. But I can't really take a firm stand on him, because I just haven't seen him enough.

Mayo may go #2 to the Heat. Rumor has it that Wade has been begging the Heat to take Mayo, since they are long time buddies. The Heat are also concerned about Beasley's attitude.

These things often don't work out the way I expect, but man I'd think if you are Miami and you don't already have a deal worked out you take Beasley anyway. Suppose you do that, you just sit back, and wait to see who gets Mayo. You then call them and say, "Beasley for Mayo and what?", and I'd say there are very few if any teams who wouldn't give you Mayo and a 2nd rounder for Beasley, for starters. You might get more than that, but you'll get something. The only *possible* trick would be if Minnesota takes Mayo 3rd and then decides they don't want Jefferson and Beasley together.

Beasley is the #2 pick, unless Miami knows something a lot of other people don't.

Just rumors, but they are said to be wary of his tude. also he measured out to only 6'6 1/2" or 6'7" without shoes. Some had him at 6'9" 6'10". I'd take him at 2, but Miami has Haslem and Marion in the front court. Wade and Mayo makes for an explosive back-court.

It wouldn't be totally odd for Mayo to jump into the top slots based on the incredible hype that's surrounded him since he started playing.

And the Heat really do want Mike Miller. So does alot of teams.

Rem, I hate to burst your bubble, but I heard that Lester Hudson droped out of the draft last week.

That scenario could happen but I see some Mia, Minny, Memphis 3 way going on. Where Memphis gets Beasley, Mia Mayo and Minny Love.

Yeah, my gut says Love to Minny.

If he's still there at around 8, then I hope we burn the phone lines to get him.

This is on Wiretape and it's confirming my thoughts on McHale being in Love with Love.

If Miami takes Mayo, then I can't see Minny taking Lopez over Love. My scenario has no chance.

If Miami takes Mayo, McHale should take about 15 seconds to draft Beasley and laugh all the way back to Minny.

Driving in this morning, I concluded this might be exciting but not as crazy as I thought

If...
- Miami actually wants Mayo
- Minnesota actually wants Love
- Memphis wants a big

Perhaps the 3 of them just shuffle their picks around. Memphis is the team moving up, so perhaps they send out Miller and a point guard or something to appease the other two.
