GSW trades Baron Davis to Knicks
Knicks trades Zach Randolph, Wilson Chandler, and Renaldo Blackman to Chicago
Chicago trades Kirk Hinrich, Cedric Simmons, and Drew Gooden to GSW
GSW trades Drew Gooden to Sonics for Earl Watson
Jackson - Azubuike - Randolph
Harrington - Wright - Simmons
Biedrins - Perovic
Ellis - Belinelli
Hinrich - Watson, Earl
Why for GSW, cannot reward again players who put up great years during their free agency year. He didn't opt out. But this was the first year he almost played a complete season without injuries in a few years. The GSW have rewarded players like Jason Caffey, Adonal Foyle, Erick Dampier, Larry Hughes, and so on during a "breakout" year. Baron is the heart and soul of the team but will never play 82 games plus the playoffs, if they get that far, in one year. There was a reason Nellie sat him late in the year becuase he decided to go party instead of devoting his time and energy to the team. And the GSW missed the playoffs by what one game. The Knicks present a new start and the big lights for Baronto thrive. Hinrich is signed long term with a contract that actually decreases over time.
Gallinari - Richardson
Lee - Jefferies - Rose
Curry - James - Morris
Crawford - Robinson - Collins
Davis - Marbury
After the drafting of Gallinari, boos rain down in the Garden. Getting Davis man the point only helps Gallinari get more open looks and puts the star burden on Davis and not the drafting of Gallinari. Next year Marbury's contract is gone, if not traded during the season, should open cap space.
Deng - Chandler - Blackman
Randolph - Nocioni
Noah - Thomas - Gray
Hughes - Sefolosha
Rose - Gordon
Randolph is a cure for their low post woes. Yes he has problems but who doesn't. Ben Gordon is a combo guard and can play some point. Rose will give everyone easier looks.
Green - Griffin
Wilcox - Collison - Marshal
Petro - Gooden - Sene - Ibaka
Durant - Wilkins
Ridnour - Westbrrok
Too many point guards and Gooden represents a solid young vet center. Not a true center but his job mostly is to guard the best low post scorers. Ridnour the better scorer and Westbrrok the dominant defensive player. A good mix of offensive and defense.
Roster does not include any 2008 second rounders.
