Baron 4 Marrion trade!
At the moment they're both on about the same $. I think if were losing Baron let's get a guy that would fit in with our style of play. Riley would definately take the deal. Marrion would help our rebounding woes and the thought of Ellis, Jackson, Marrion, Wright and Beans first team is awesome! What does everyone think? Nelson has said he thinks Ellis future at point anyway. Ilove Baron but it makes sense to trade him if we can get a player of Marrions quality

Re: Baron 4 Marrion trade!
Right like we need another PF.
Makess ZERO sence
I could see something like Baron to Miami with Marion and Randolph going to Clippers, and we get Brand or
Baron plus Randoph or Wright for Brand.
Any one think Clipperz would ever bight on a AR, Marco, Future First, Harrington Trade
I personally think we should either
A)Keep Baron, trade for a veteran and let him walk next season
B) trade him and get some more pieces for the future to help with Monta Wright Beans Randolph a lights out shooter or pure point guard

Include Mario Chalmers in that deal and I'd do it.

Killacat, You start your reply with "like we need another pf". Firstly genius, Marrion is a sf and second;y you come up with a deal for a pf.??????????????? Try again pal and try to make some sense.
And i also think Mario Chalmers would be a good fit in the trade as well. Maybe we throw in cash or a second round pick to make the $ work
Trade
GS send Baron Davis + cash
Mia send Shawn Marrion + Mario Chalmers

I'd rather keep our lead chucker
No thanks...I really want to keep minutes open for our young forwards
Plus I cant stand Marion

umm check ur pages dude cuzz Marion is a lock to play Pf even center for us anybody ask anybody on earth and they'll tell u that
and by the way my trade also sends out a PF and then brings one in genious
Second of all Brand and Marion arnt even in the same catagory, so ur telling me ud rather have Marion over Brand?
Brand puts us up there with the top and Marion doesnt especially not without Baron
Brand is a tru post player that well put up 20/10 every night while Marion cant hit the ocean from the golden gate bridge, Id rather have Brand jacking up shots then Jackson and Marion

Re: Baron 4 Marrion trade!
Ok Killacat, now your dribble is starting to make little more sense. But, SHAWN MARION IS A SF. He hates playing PF and that's part of the reason he's not at Phoenix anymore. If he stays at Miami he will be playing at the 3 with Haslem or Beasley at PF and Blount at C. Shawn Marion is a perimeter threat and then a post threat, not the other way round. For years it has been well known that Marion has been playing out of position at the Suns and he welcomed the trade last year so he didn't have to defend the Brands, Garnetts and Bosh's. He would play the 3 for us and then sometimes the 4 with Harrington and Wright.
On Brand, I would definately love to have Brand as I agree he is better than Marion in the paint. A true dominant low post scorer, rebounder and shot blocker. However, by trading for Brand that is kinda going against the fast uptempo game that we have employed in Oakland and will take us in another direction that is not Nelli-like so I can't see it happening. Unless of course that's where Mully wants to take the franchise.

to me personally, and this is no homer talk: Baron is 4-times as valuable as Shawn Marion, on any teams in this league.

Re: Baron 4 Marrion trade!
The only way I'd do a Marion deal is if it involves Al and the only way I believe Marion would come over here is if Baron's still aroung. As for playing 4, I doubt seriously if he'd have any problem playing it here as all of the other 4 starters will be excellent rebounders and would help out (Beans, Jack, Baron and Monta). Out style suits him perfectly. He might be the best fit out there and we could occasionally pair him up with BWright or even Hendrix while we slide Jack to the 2. We'd easily be in the top half of the league in rebounding with that group. Then throw Bukie in the mix (if he's resigned), Hendrix and even Randolph. I don;t think there will be any rebounding problem whatsoever. The problem would be with the other teams keeping up with our speed game. Marion at the 4 (as undersized as he may have been) was also considered one of the best defenders in the league. I can;t see hmi coming here if Baron's gone and I don't even think that Miami would necessarily even want Baron to tell you the truth.

Re: Baron 4 Marrion trade!
At the moment Baron probably is more valuable than Marion. However, i'd like to hear you say this again in 6 months when Baron injures himself AGAIN or becomes unmotivated AGAIN and we've got him locked in for the next 5 years at 18 mill each year, probably raising every year. Don't get me wrong, I love B-Diddy but I don't see him hanging around long term in Oakland. He's an injury away from crippling the franchise for years like Jermaine did for the Pacers. Think about how hard it would be to trade an injury prone PG with 4-5 years left a on a massive contract. No thankyou. Marrion would be a good fit with the Warriors run and gun, no doubt.

First of all please spell Marion's name right. It's not that big a deal, but your talking smack and the wrong name thing is bothersome.
Second, nobody, I mean nobody is gonna sign Baron for 5 years at 18mil per. In 6 months if we don't trade him, he'll still be here on the last year of his deal. We can then let him expire and use the cap relief next year to sign someone else.
Now if you'd like to say the Warriors shouldn't EXTEND Baron this year, or at a very high rate, I'd agree with you.
And Marion wouldn't sniff the SF spot with Nellie.

Re: Baron 4 Marrion trade!
No your right, Maarrioen would probably play 4 under Nellie at first however when Nellie leaves and Wright, Randolph develop he'll definately shift to the 3. Either way, Merryion would kick ass going a hundred mile an hour in the Warriors attack.
If Baron doesn't get his trillion dollar extension this summer, how happy is he going to be in Oakland next year? He may have a blinder season because it will be a contract one for him and push himself all year....and then injure himself. Or, he might become unenthused with the Warriors and demand a trade. I think we move him now for value. A sign and trade Baron for Mirreon and Chalmers will do just nicely.

Baron has to be a good soldier this season no matter what happens because he wants to get paid. If he throws a hissy fit, then it hurts his wallet.
Marion may not resign here, so is it worth just one year and the teams chemistry?

What makes you say that Marion would be here any longer than Baron will? Who says we'd want to sign either of them to long term extensions? And if you think that Marion's extension would be any cheaper than Baron's, well then you need to rethink some of what you're saying. He's looking for a max deal (just like Baron is). Do you think Miami's giving him one? Same answer as us and Baron, absolutely not. If Baron gets injured this year, so what, he walks and we are left with 18 Mil to spend on another Free Agent. Marion with Baron something to get excited about, Marion without Baron, so-so. The key thing with Baron, surround him with a little more talent than we had last year and probably gives a more solid year than last year. Surround him with t lot more (which Marion is) and watch him go. This also lessens the chances for injury as he wouldn't be expected to carry so much of the load. Either way, Marion or Baron, we're just looking at making a one year run and then done. Trading one for the other doesn't make sense. Somehow getting both for a year does imo.

Resign them both then trade. This is what we call "sign and trade".

To do that, you'd have to extend them both and neither team wants to do that. Just wait until Monday when both their options become official (both intend to not exercise them) and then they both can be traded (which I expect they will be, Marion more likely than Baron). That way the teams they go to will not be obligated beyond this season.

turk3d you make a good point. I think Marion might like the thought of playing in the Bay. I wonder if Miami would consider signing him and trading for Al, Pietrus and Whatever(2nd round pick, Cash)?
