If Baron Leaves, Chi/GS Trade?

GSW incoming:
Kirk Hinrich
GSW outgoing:
Stephen Jackson
Kosta Perovic
or
Stephen Jackson
Marco Belinelli
CJ Watson
I'm pretty sure you guys would prefer the first trade, but would you do the second trade? Would you do either?
I think Kirk and Ellis would be good together, Kirk can defend SGs and PGs and can run an offense. He had an off year last year, but he was very good before then.

Hinrich was the worst starting PG in the league last season...Total stiff with a long contract..No way he could play PG in our supercharged offense..
No way

Marco Belinelli? Are you kidding me? This kid will be the next Ginobli. No need to trade him now. Make Monta PG with Belinelli SG.

I don't get all the Hinrich hate. On a team where he isn't asked to be the primary offense, he will thrive. Not to mention he plays good defense again points and shooting guards, can hit the open shot, and hits to the open man. Monta isn't a point guard, or at least he's not ready to be full time. He's obviously not Baron Davis, but, you know what, neither is Monta Ellis. I see few better options to man the point.

Since Hinrich is all that, the Bulls can keep him.

The Bulls have Derrick Rose to manage the point. The Warriors have CJ Watson.

Did Monta disappear?

He's a combo guard at best. A very VERY good combo guard. Not a point.
Look, I'm not doggin Monta here. He IS the Warriors future. But I think the Warriors need a point who 1) averaged more than 4.1 assists per 40 minutes 2) plays hard defense 2) shoots better than 23% from 3 point range. Let Monta focus on what he is best at: putting the ball in the basket.

...damn right!
Baron leaves? uh....to where? Does he take a fat pay cut and go to a worse team?
Most likely Baron re-ups for a 4-5 yr deal with a slightly lower first year, helping us stay under Lux Tax now but getting Baron good bucks overall.
Next most likely might be some twist on Baron-Marion. For that to fly-Marion needs a new contract too. After that...a deal that helps us both now and later....no "3 scrubs,an expiring bum,and a rd 2".
We get at least one piece that's major quality. That won't be another wing player..unless he's real premium stuff. Center and PG depth would also help.
Yet another option...goodbye Baron, hello cap space.

As to the original post,Jackson had a real good year. Hinrich didn't. The Bulls would need to add value...and forget Kosta who's currently our only C backup.

You make a good case for us to keep Baron.....not so much to overpay in trade to overpay Hinrich in salary. If Hinrich was so good, the Bulls draft Beasley and swap Tyrus.

Hinrich made a horrible mistake last year - he got married
He followed that up with his worse year ever
So, his stock is not very high right now
However, he is not a stiff & his contract is a declining one.
I dont think Bulls will trade him until at least Ben Gordon's contract thing is resolved - and that will take all summer
Paxson also talks that he will bring Rose along slowly - which means Kirk would be staying since he's the only other Chicago PG (Gordon, Hughes, & Thabo cannot handle the Point)

I like that deal for the Bulls. In addition you are trading big for small. Jackson play defense. You do not want Kirk Hinrich

Stereotype garbage....
Monta was averaging 5apg as the season wound down despite the ball domination of Jackson and Baron... he showed aptitude in every kind of passing - organized, pick n roll plays to drive and kick, even dishing inside as the season ended.
All I know is, if our most efficient and prolific scorer has the ball most of the time, whats the damn problem? Teams will do their best to shut down the middle, leaving us wide open 3s and a guy who can find open teammates. The logic that Monta can't be a PG because he's such a great scorer is perplexing to me... It's essentially punishing him for being the team's best offensive weapon. And then we have fans here who want to keep him at just that - an undersized combo scoring guard - instead of letting Monta make the leap to becoming quite possibly one of the most dangerous/versatile offensive weapons in the NBA.

I have to agree Reggae. I was extremely impressed by Monta and his ability to drive and dish is just improving. once he stops turning it over on drives as much which is slowly happening, He's going to be a fine PG.

Baron is in Monta's way to take over this team. The Warriors need to find a big guard with handles to play along side of him. Jack can be that guy, but I'm not sure what to expect from him now with Baron possible being gone. I would prefer to add another big guard anyway.
Billups is a thought, I just don't like the length of his contract.
I would do an S&T if possible bringing back expiring contracts and a possible prospect.
