Hours away from the end of The French Trainwreck era

Post#1 » by Sid the Squid » Tue Jul 8, 2008 7:34 pm

The heat are out of the running for MP...Seems like he's got a deal set with another team.

Sad day for all fans of a good trainwreck. :(

Given that Pietrus has also been mentioned in tandem with San Antonio for some time, I'd like to see that. It would get him out of our hair, and presumably take them out of any Maggette discussions. I don't want to overpay for Maggette, but the more his options vanish and his salary drifts towards the MLE, the more interested I become.

Does Abyss Impact go along with him? Is this a Dew/McLeod tandem deal, or what?

''They have priorities they are addressing,'' McCandless said Tuesday. ``I think they don't include being able to pay a substantial amount of the midlevel exception to a player like [Mickael] at this moment.''

translation: MP not worth 3 million to Miami.

I think he will come back to the Warriors. Why would Don Nelson want to let him go? He played great, and when Don Nelson first came here he said MP was the first person to impress him, meaning he is really good. I doubt Mullin will be dumb enough to let MP go.

San Antonio. He's their immediate replacement for Barry and long term replacement for Bowen. They've been interested in him for a while and he'll be cheaper than Magguette and the probably feel that Magguette's not likely to accept the MLE and wants multi-year. Pop would be the perfect coach to turn Pietrus career around. I wish him the best.

Man, if Petey goes to SA... I can see it now. Pop will rip him a new hole for all those stupid fouls and stepping out of bound. Pop for some reason, loves to punish Frenchmen. Just ask Parker. :D

Makes sense. That's a good fit for him.
