Plan D = Josh Smith

Post#1 » by Sid the Squid » Wed Jul 9, 2008 12:26 am

Who's with me?

You get a chance to sign a young stud like Josh, you do it.. :censored: it...We could always trade him whenever we want...The kid has heart..He struggled in the playoffs at times..So what? 22 years old..This kid is the *Monta* of forwards...I want to see the Biedrins-Wright-Smith-Randolph-Jack-Hendrix rotation...Nellie would have no excuses..He's got to play the loooong dudes...

Josh Smith...All we have to do is pay up..The clips dont have the $$$..The hawks are bluffing..Let's do it to it.

Plan A: Iggy-perfect fit with Monta, but would be expensive
Plan B: Smoove- frontline of Smoove, BW, AR, Beans, Hendrix has me salivating
Plan C: Childress-good solid player
Plan D:Frontload Monta and Beans contracts, resign Azu, and call it an offseason

My preference has been to make an attempt to get Iggy and if it doesn't work then do a rebuild. I don't like any of the other guys at big money. Childress could easily be part of rebuild, but I don't think he's necessary or a great fit.

I agree. Id maybe switch C to James Jones, but the general idea is the same.

I'd love to get Childress. People forget he was the 6th overall pick for a reason. That guy has some skills I just think he never got a chance to show em having to play behind all those wings in ATL. Not to mention the hair reminds me of Tha Docta.

I like Childress a lot..but the dude is a wing who cant shoot..That's tough..I love the rest of his game though..

For the W's ? We need a sharpshooter or two..Kapono?

Josh Smith would be absolutely sensational with Ellis and Biedrins

That means he won't be coming here because Don would be gone by next season.

The Cohan PR machine needs to catch wind of the Smith clamouring just like they did for the Maggette hate. As soon as they report back to Morocco Mole, we'll be in the Smith mix.

If we could get Iggy, that's a playoff run. If not, it's hard to turn away from a potential talent like Smoove (I remember not too long ago that was a potential fantasy of a lot of the posters on this board) especially with his potential. Although it might be risky, it is a case where it would probably be worth it if Atlanta would allow us to do it. The reason that it's not as risky as some might think is because of all of the talent we have at his position the way things are looking tight now (we may have gone from a top heavy wing/guard tweam to more of a power heavy team).

With Beans, Wright, Harrington, Hendrix and Randolph, we'd be more than covered as far as what we'd be needing from him regardless of what position(s) that Nellie would play hm at. If he did get some minutes at the 3 also, we'd have Jack, Bukie and Randolph. You talk a bout an exciting team, I say give it a shot (don't get your hopes up too high) and see how things turn out. So what if we wind up competing with the Clips for him. Maybe we can jack up the price for him too (lol). Even if they outbid us for him, that would let them think that they beat us at something. All I can see is good coming the Warriors way for a change if they keep on the path that they are currently on.

If Philly gets Elton Brand (hence, the Rodney Carney trade earlier today to get $2 cash consideration), we'll get our hands on J-Smoove. No doubt.

It all goes down to who makes the first move...I just hope they aren't messing with the Dubs managements' brains with this one...

Oh well. Cohan can always sue the PR department when season ticket holders revolt.
