Why does the front office do this?

I checked through the threads and couldn't find anything,
so why are they letting Peitrus go, and then signing Maggette? They are basically the same type of player. Was there a personality clash or what. It's weird, with the front office moves, do they have their priorities on paper or are they just shooting from the hip after each situation and hoping for the best? What are they goingt for?

What?
Honestly this isn't for junk mail, or hijacking other threads. And I'm not pouting or spilling my insides in disgust like some of you are doing. (sorry)
This is a serious question for basketball lovers that follow the off season, If I have the question, I'm sure 10 others do too. Just wanted to ask the experts of GSW.

That was for Abyss, not you.

That orange type was from a mod (Hopper) who deleted what Abyss originally wrote. The message was directed at Abyss not you.
As for your question, the only similarity between Pietrus and Maggette is that they are both wings.

The yellow font is the mod communicating with the edited poster above. It's not directed at you. As to your question, they are letting Pete go because he was not an effective player. He was erratic on both ends, and has a lot of warts over the 5 years the Warriors have tried to develop him. Most of his issues come from not respecting his limitations, he's been trying to prove that he's more than he is for years, and it finally got old.
Why Maggette at 5 times the price? Because our front office is a bunch of retards.

Kind of covers it. The franchise has had a shakey record developing player's skills. For a guy like Pietrus,if you push him to play aggressive D and go pedel to the metal, he will often try to do more than what's possible,or at least more than what he can efficiently execute. With Ellis, you can give him a few tips, and get out of the way,you don't need to reprogram him. Handled just right,Pietrus may be just as good as Maggette in 2 years. there's a ton of talent there. GSW was playing a defensive game on the GM level. Letting the Clips make a mega-move was a big problem, especially with the Blazers on the rize. We don't want to have 8-10 teams in the West that are locked in above us.
If the Sixers snatch Brand and we grab Maggette....the Clips don't get a net gain.
