There may also be some pace inflation of Monta's stats vs Kobe.

That's true, but Monta also had two other perimeter oriented 20ppg players on the same team: Baron and Stephen. So even though Monta played in a fast paced system, it still didn't show the best of him since he gave up a lot of scoring opportunities to the other big dogs of the team.
